Darth. The last time I was working on a friend's computer that had problems with it's wireless card, I replaced it with a dongle. Examples can be found here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.asp...scription=wireless+dongle

I forget the brand name that I used but it worked well on a G network using WPA-PSK.

Hi all. I left WCG 4 years ago, but did not leave the team. Don’t know how long I’ll stay, we will see. I don’t even know why I came back. I see that most of the old timers are still here. Gerald, Dave Bell, your new captain KH, RT, to name only a few. I installed the program on 2 PCs, I tried an old Celeron but it did not performed too well so I disconnected it.
I retired 4 years ago and I am enjoying every minutes of my new found freedom. wink

Hey, good to hear from you. Welcome back. Lots has changed, lots hasn't. I hope you'll keep crunching here. If you change your mind, we also crunch as several other projects so that may offer you some other options you'll find interesting. Web site's a bit of story but on my shoulders. Hopefully, I'll get to a number of changes this year. Last year was a good one to have behind. wink

Re: smilesmile Join "MyOnlineTeam" Today - Chapter 40 smilesmile

Except for the cold weather, this week is going to be a good week. We should complete our first 1000 years of run time in the next few days and Darth will become our newest MOT Millionaire!

At his current pace, RT is looking at a 17-18 million point year! Daeloan is putting up some good numbers hitting their third milestone today. Now if we could "cure" them of their "lurker" ways. wink biggrin hne12359 looks to have settled in not that the holidays are behind us. Good steady crunching there! TheRoket could give us a Baltic take on things (ain't it fun being global!?). Join in folks, we don't bite (and don't need any shots)! laughing

Dr. Mike, just got the newest Consumer Reports today. In a quick thumb thru, noticed that they had particular praise for that Dell XPS i7 that RT has. I'll have to go back and get the particulars....

Re: smilesmile Join "MyOnlineTeam" Today - Chapter 40 smilesmile

our server has developed an intermittent problem that prevents any communication with the outside world (or with others on the inside either), but then it suddenly works well. the tech guy told me it must be a memory allocation problem since our server only has 512meg of memory. the only problem with that is that it has had the same memory for the past four years and we have never had a problem until now and the usage stats don't support that idea. i told him to replace the antiquated junker. then the problems started. they checked with dell and the geniuses there won't be able to ship it until jan 27. they are checking with hp and if they can't get it here by the end of the week i may have to make the tech guys build one. i can't take much more of this work or don't work stuff. the worst part isn't the slow work load, it's the disturbance of my crunching throughput.

Actually I have two of those. One is a 920 and one is an 860. Both work like champs; together they crank out lots of work and together they cost a touch over $2000. (The 920 was cheaper about 6 months back...could be that it still is). Together I would think they crank out more work for the money than other possibilities; could be wrong.

Like I said. Someone shut the blinking door up north..the draft just keeps getting colder down here. smile

Welcome back xroule. Good to "see" you. Join in the fun.
