Switched to Google Public DNS service and seemingly stable, for now

http://code.google.com/intl/nl/speed/public-dns/docs/using.html

Very easy to remember IPs if you need to find an alternate, temporary or permanent.

I tried clearing out all the WCG cookies which seems to have helped. Messing with DNS servers has had little effect for me.

Re: [UNRESOLVED] Anyone else having page load and WCG website navigation issues?

For a while this morning (US East coast), I could get to the My Grid/Stats pages fine but the Forums button gave a 404 error. Worked fine later. Maybe an IP address changed and was just a matter of that clearing out/refreshing. The again, could have just been some short maint. biggrin

Re: [UNRESOLVED] Anyone else having page load and WCG website navigation issues?

We had a database backup issue yesterday that caused the forums to go-offline. We have fixed that and all should be working fine now.

Re: [UNRESOLVED] Anyone else having page load and WCG website navigation issues?

We should be seeing this only 3 4 times a week now (was daily), but so far I've seen it Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, start around 07:00 UTC. Wonder if some locking routine continues on the old schedule. Also not heard if the new site is mirrored somewhere so only part of the globe gets to see this at any one part of the day?

edit: and Friday too.

After a further change it now seems limited to Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday. starting 07:00 UTC rolling lock outs, ending with the forums.

Re: [UNRESOLVED] Anyone else having page load and WCG website navigation issues?

Well, this web site isssue is on-going whether it's been worked or not. Nobody has mentioned it in nearly two weeks. I have to sign in each time I try to navigate between "results" or "device manager" or "my statistics", or anywhere else.

The "My Statistics" page seems to be the default page I am sent to regardless of what I selected on the Boinc Manager.
I'm completely denied acces to the record links (14, 30, 60, 365) under Statistics History. When selected the sign-in page reappears immediately.

I'm using Vista SP2, IE 8 with all updates current. Cookies enabled of course.

Re: [UNRESOLVED] Anyone else having page load and WCG website navigation issues?

Do you tick the "Remember me" box when you log in? Even if you don't want to be remembered from one session to the next that might solve your problem until the techs can find what is wrong. If it works better your only inconvenience would then be to think of logging out when you are finished.

Regarding the "My Statistics" page, any time you log in this is the page which is displayed next.

Cheers. Jean.

Re: [UNRESOLVED] Anyone else having page load and WCG website navigation issues?

Yes, I have checked the remeber me box.

When I sign-in I go to the My Statistics page but cannot go elsewhere from there. When I try to go to, for example, Device Manager, I am immediately refered back to a sign-in then back to My Statistics.

Sekerob's suggestion about the http://www and https://secure is not applicable because I am already on the secure page.

Don't know about DNS servers, what they do, or how to change to another site.

The website will not let me select or drop other projects. I cannot see my daily progress. Other than that, I have little use for it.
