2010 has come to, gpu support ready? NopeWe are working on it but only part-time so not much progress to report. We've got our hands full working on the new research projects that we'll be launching in the next few months. |

We've got our hands full working on the new research projects that we'll be launching in the next few months. I like the plural aspect of this quote ![]() I know the techs/admins are never keen on giving the game away, although I'm hoping that these are on top of the two future projects that we're already aware of (CEP2 & IADS2). ![]() |

CEP2 and FLU2 is plural FAICT (:-)
----------------------------------------Don't know nothing... FLU1 took the CA's thoroughly by surprise too... but the mouth is watering at the thought... when the bell tolls. =o=

Sek, what I'm hoping for, is/are some new projects as well as the ones we're already aware of - so as to bring some extra variety (and publicity/new members) to WCG.
----------------------------------------What I am surprised about though, is the fact that the WCG techs don't share some advance knowledge of what's launching in the very near future, with you guys. After all, you do have your own forum, and I'm sure that you'll know certain things that aren't for public knowledge. ![]() |

Hi gb009761,
We do have some knowledge about projects that are being seriously investigated. But we don't know a lot of things. Some potential projects that sounded interesting have not been mentioned in a while. I can hope that they are still possibilities that the scientists just need more time to develop. So, we hear some of the 'buzz', but we are not really up on the details of just where a potential project really is in development. Lawrence |

After all, you do have your own forum, and I'm sure that you'll know certain things that aren't for public knowledge. Right, and we do see a little more than you.And in this "little more" there has been already so many date changes and/or launch sequence changes (including one famous last minute one) that I would not pass any such info here before the actual launch, even if we were allowed to. ![]() |

Don't worry JmBoullier, I'm not attempting to get either you or your CA colleagues to spill any beans - I respect you and all the knowledge/help that you all bring to the forum.
----------------------------------------I suppose I'm just keen on seeing some new projects on top of the two that we know will eventually be coming - especially now that we're got down to just 5 constantly active (soon to be 4) and 1 'actively intermittent' projects ![]() ![]() |

yes i am defiantly looking forward to being told my GPU's don't have enough power once they get to GPU processing but till then i would love to see it...
----------------------------------------i am more interested in getting more projects online as we seem to be getting more efficient and clearing them out was hopeful we had a new one going but do to the nature of DDDT-2 i realize now that it is a nice project but defiantly not going to be a constant one. i also fear once we are down to 4 projects we might start seeing our teraflop rating drop a bit cause people focus on other BOINC projects instead of just WCG. myself i think i am in the long-hall here i haven't heard of another project that steals my attention long enough to worry about. would love to see the CA spill the beans on what they know but im not gona push cause i understand about op-sec :P ![]() |

would love to see the CA spill the beans on what they know but im not gona push cause i understand about op-sec You can push away, but the CAs dont spill the beans. No information on new projects is provided until the project is released. I'm not picking on you, but I do find it annoying when crunchers start this incessant whining about wanting information that will just not be forthcoming. When it comes to new projects, you have to wait, wait, then wait and wait some more. Then there is a beta. Then there is more waiting... and waiting. Perhaps a second beat, followed by more waiting. There will be no tidbits of information on the project or the release date or the points, badges, length of WUs or duration of project. You can glean the idea that something is coming. That's all. The CAs are Volunteers who have enough to deal with. No pestering allowed. They can't be tricked either. |
