Thanks for that observation BobCat13.
----------------------------------------I've never ever seen the "platform not supported" on my windows client btw and I've attached WCG many many times from the drop down list, not in a pop-up nor can't remember ever seeing it in the message log. Never understood why this and more bits on the regular BOINC projects v.v. WCG can't be populated. E.g. the My Account projects summary at bottom shows the WCG project name, but it's not having an active link like the others. Same as you, I'd already proposed to just type the address http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org to see what the next block is that pops up.

What happens if you type the http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org into the attach to project box and enter. I guess I wasn't that clear... I have had no problems attaching to wcg project, it is running the wu's that troubles me... certainly you need the 32 bit libs to successfully process WCG under a 64 bit platform. I run the 32 bit kernel of Fedora. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Nov 24, 2009 11:21:36 AM] |

Think the next best thing is to set some debug flags in the cc_config.xml and see what the message log pops out... that is if you're game.

Okay, I guess your are game, though you say you aren't.
----------------------------------------First though, verify the ca-bundle.crt file is in the BOINC program directory. It's there I'm sure else you'd not have received WCG project files in the first place but the reinstall may have lost it? Second, maybe it's a case of permission/ownerships not proliferating correctly first time attaching to WCG (getting desperate) - Detach from WCG - Go into the data dir structure and delete any file and subdir you can find that references WCG such as ...\projects\www.worldcommunitygrid.org - Reattach to WCG. BOINC reinstalls don't necessarily remove all project files. The cc_config.xml. Create or edit to have these lines, restart BOINC or use the BOINC manager advanced menu to read in the config.
The flags are on if 1 and off if 0. I'm tapping in the dark ... can't you all tell, but then no-one knowledgeable on Linux/Fedora is stepping up to the plate.

SE10267,
Last time we saw an issue with pthread error 11, the member reinstalled ubuntu and installed BOINC fresh and all worked afterwards so we were not able to get to the root cause. One thing we checked was the ability to create pthreads by checking the local_lim.h file. I believe since climate works, this is not an issue. Can you also check the working directories for both climate prediction and World Community grid that they have the same permissions? Also, do you know if you have selinux enabled? -Uplinger |

Different tangent, pthread error 11 was reported before here: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/...ead,26642_offset,0#250655
----------------------------------------harddisk issues, but extremely unlikely since cpdn is running.

I have run the built-in disktest on my Lenovo T60 and it found no errors. Thanks for your efforts in helping me out! |

I couldn't find a way to attach files to a post and the output of the logfile seems to big to paste so I uploaded to my adrive... Here goes: http://www.adrive.com/home/downloadfile/95f80...8df3f31dff845db0ad5ba9e90 |
