My take is to pick one, either Standard or Daylight Savings Time and let it be. Who are we fooling anyway. There are only 24 hours in a day any way you look at it. So we either accept night or day to arrive an hour earlier or later depending on which method is chosen. This whole time change has affected me as I've always been involve it IT and it has always made extra work to accommodate the change.
Write your politicians and ask them to pick one or the other. I will now get off of my soapbox. |

We don't need politicians for this ,
----------------------------------------Some should read quote more about what is going on our the world , with all my respect This is not the first time that Chile has extended its DST schedule. The country did so in the past due to reasons such as earthquakes and energy problems. [Edit 2 times, last edit by Former Member at Mar 5, 2011 11:44:03 PM] |

That's very late in the year, JP, compared to Western Europe's quite uniform last Sunday of October, not to speak of your quite short winter time of barely 3.5 months. Here it lasts 5 months.
Farmers don't like it anymore then when it was impleted sometime 1978 or thereabouts as those who've not automated, still have to get up when the cow moo. cheers --//-- |

Yes Sek
This was because of this Chile Extends DST Again Due to Energy Published 3-Mar-2011. Changed 28-Mar-2011 Update: The Chilean government announced that daylight saving time (DST) will end on Saturday, May 7, 2011. The clocks will move one hour back at midnight (00:00) between Saturday, May 7, and Sunday, May 8, in 2011. Cheers ![]() |

It's one of the best ideas russian government had in the last couple of years! Would be great if the whole world would do the same and stop this craziness.
----------------------------------------It makes me really angry every winter, when this "Daylight Saving" steals me the last ray of light in the evening where I could go out with my son. It just forces us to stay home for the whole evening ![]() ![]() |
