It's only Tuesday, but the funniest news going around AP and Reuters is that satellite imagery have revealed and estimated 2.5 million properties in Italy that are not in the cadastre aka land survey registry. The first million have been indexed and may expect letters or visits. It's funniest because absolutely everyone knew about them existing in very large numbers ![]() --//-- Not that we should be picking on the Greeks, but I thought I saw the same type of thing when satellite imagery revealed many swimming pools which had not been declared for tax purposes. Cheers

Sgt.Joe, the sad underline to that is that the Greek were allowed to "emigrate" hundreds of billions to foreign banks... enough to bail out their country they led to ruins, pun intended. Now a tax treaty between Greece and the Swiss makes it so that latter will levy tax on behalf of the Greek government and transfer it to Athens... and that part is funny.
![]() This weeks funnies is this headline "Blago gets 'lost' on way to prison, eats his last free lunch"... yes he passed the entrance gate to jail twice and decided to go for lunch first, with his attorney. ![]() --//-- |

Funniest news just today was, that 2 orangutans in a US zoo were taught how to use an iPad http://www.nbcmiami.com/news/Orangutans-at-Mi...ommunicate-150753495.html. The program used was originally developed for those suffering from autism, which goes to show that if given the right tools, the primates on that high vantage point looking down on us could be "thinking": You 7 billion of my descendents can't leapfrog off this planet!

This one is not funny [to the German people]. The picture is of Ingo Antonio Zamperoni, of Italian immigration parents, at the end of the national televised news show, "sharing" that Italy was 2:0 up on Germany in the semi finals of EURO 2012, then quoting Dante, who wrote that the face expressed what the mood of the heart was. Zamperoni then said that he did not know what his face was telling that moment, but he was feeling torn ;P

Still early in the week, but this one hits various smiling muscles: A German economics student at FOM Essen, did his study in 3 semester, when it's done normally in 11. The university wants the tuition of the missed periods [not all of it], but of course the [former] absolvierte student wont cough. How he did it: He and others shared their college notes with each other who visited the simultaneous sessions.

The last weeks news was ruled by the USA presendential election and the fall-out, and sure as heck, on the GOP side there was loads of heck paid, to include the counter representative who won the polls "because" the character assassination was tried and flew in the face... so funny. Competing for funniest news on the Nov.6 elections was either that Mitt is going green [yes GW is real and it's spoiling coffee plant growth], the Sunshine staters have trouble counting the ballot or a promise made by Donald T, captured in a picture with subtext: http://sphotos-e.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash3...58127555_1681111264_n.jpg

Wednesday midweeks and hopping around the international flashnews pages, came upon the funniest story for this week. Previous discussed elsewhere, off-topic, how a highest in the neighborhood e-bill could alert the cops to come check if you're growing grass in the attic. SNURK wrote they catch 5000 like that in the Netherlands per annum. Make that 5001, but this is funnier because these guys were thinking to be smart and run a power generator [which they did not encase in a silencing box] so the neighbors heard, but foremost, it snowed heavily in the Netherlands [courtesy of more vapor in the air and wind from the eastern angle to crystallize it]. The roof over the attic of the plantage had no snow on it whilst all other houses in the row did. Hilarious.

By and far the funniest news was the hih hoh of the much speculated (UK PM) Cameron speech on the Brits and their membership to the European Union [A In or Out referendum promised]. Many politicians in the EU responded that the EU is not a Supermarket for the Brits where they can pick what is advantages to them, and not be part of the agreements that they don't like. The dooropener came though from France... they promised to lay out the red carpet for British enterpreneurs (to move their business to the continent... and it's just a short Chunnel Ride to come across)

Oh, make my day, Ted Nugent for president. Pity Arnold was not born in the USA... he could run as his sidekick vice [presuming the limitation also applies to VPs.... it would be Spock logical]
