Hi,
----------------------------------------in Sekerob's Charts as well as the daily statistics we can find some data: Run Time: 17674 years Current daily run time: ~50 years Status: 58.5% So if we do the math, the project will require a total of about 30000 years, which should be achievable by June 2010 at the current rate. So Sekerob, I guess you are doing some different math to get to your end date of March 2011? Regards, Martin |

No Math, it's an indicative date of when it really is thought to finish which includes historic considerations... slow downs, not able to handle volumes at receiving end, new projects etc.
----------------------------------------The percent is based on what we know now is the volume... 65,000 proteins instead of 40,000 originally. Think the progress graphics at the scientists site still shows the 200x200 matrix i.e. has not been sized up yet. And this % is subject to recalibration since the last official update was ~35,000 complete for 16,300 years

Maybeone of the "techs" can comment on the reason why NRW has been subject to such a sustantial speed-up the last couple of days? Is that knreed fine-tuning some parameters, so we see a quicker validation (in this case that would be a temporary situation), or is it due to badge hunters trying to get their "blues" before the project finishes?
----------------------------------------And BTW, it would be interesting to know how many (regular) Regards, Martin --edit: results, I meant, not WUs. Each WU has the distribution of 19. [Edit 1 times, last edit by martin64 at Nov 2, 2009 3:57:23 PM] |

At yesterday's record-setting pace of 115,163 WUs per day this would even mean that the end of the project could be less than 3 months away... Well, in that case then, get a move on |

Hello martin64,
Good guess! knreed has made some changes on the scheduler, described in http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread_thread,27770 As a result, he has had to make several tweaks on the server to try to get the scheduler back to normal. It has been a busy weekend for him. Lawrence |

Ah, Sekerob,
----------------------------------------good to have you back. I have seen that you have updated the end date for RICE - June 2010 is a lot more realistic than the previous date in 2011. Thanks! Regards, Martin |
