Hello everyone,
I've got yesterday several Wus that went on error as soon as it started on one of my machine. In fact, I've got 5 pages of error Wus. On that, I have two R00371 and all the others are R00373. I never had any problem with that machine. Is somebody have a clue of what happened yesterday? |

No clue.
I hope you rebooted as soon as you noticed the errors. Lawrence |

I have valid 371s and 373s so don't think it's the WUs. |

Some of my computers can run them ok, but some of my machine quit on crunching RICE. And they stop with several types of errors. And today 1 of my computers that was able to crunch the RICE suddenly also stopped on them. I had to reset the WCG project and reboot twice to get the machine back to crunching on other projects again. I'm close to the Emerald badge in RICE, when I made it that way I will probably stop on RICE on all machines, since my experience shows it's unreliable, I don't like to waste the precious CPU time. ...Unless the Techs find the problems with this project, fixed them and report it to us.
Greetings,
Arjan |

I also get a few of the errors on Rice. Sometimes I can go weeks and bang I get 2 errors. All of them have 1 line in common:
----------------------------------------This Line is the same in all of the Errors I get: Unrecognized XML in parse_init_data_file: computation_deadline Here is the full error: <core_client_version>6.6.28</core_client_version> <![CDATA[ <message> - exit code -1073741819 (0xc0000005) </message> <stderr_txt> Unrecognized XML in parse_init_data_file: computation_deadline Skipping: 1257346900.000000 Skipping: /computation_deadline wcg_seed 306943190 running time: 214.625000 wcg_seed 931602218 running time: 434.015625 wcg_seed 529491951 running time: 651.796875 wcg_seed 232348849 running time: 865.812500 wcg_seed 755899210 running time: 1083.609375 wcg_seed 454670354 Unhandled Exception Detected... - Unhandled Exception Record - Reason: Access Violation (0xc0000005) at address 0x7C910717 read attempt to address 0x00A5FC5D Engaging BOINC Windows Runtime Debugger... </stderr_txt> I'm not sure but it seems to me the line about the XML has caused the error. |

Hello TrustedDragon,
There are plenty of XML parsing errors that do not cause any problems. Since I do not know what causes these puzzling errors, I can not rule it out. But what I think is the problem is the 'Access Violation (0xc0000005) at address 0x7C910717 read attempt to address 0x00A5FC5D'. Unfortunately, there are many problems with device drivers, compiler libraries, etc. that can cause access violations. Lawrence |

I was just thinking that the fact that lines shows up in each error and it causes some skipping it could cause the Access Violation. Today my laptop stayed on 2 WU for over five hours and then error out (after I shut down and rebooted when I got home). I have aborted all WU for Rice on this laptop so maybe someone else could run them and have better luck. I have also set this laptop to not get anymore WU's from Rice. |

I noticed this on my Win2k8 machines today (3 different machines, 2 quad core xeon, one dual core xeon).
3 errors, 1st immediately, 2nd after 2 hours, last just under 5 hours http://pastebin.com/m60bea250 Might be a caused by an update? |
