Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

Returned my first Solar powered results yesterday

Just 1% of the UK's power is coming from coal today and we have run for weeks without coal this year.
With a reasonable breeze Wind outguns Nuclear Power in the UK 2:1

Won't make any difference to the Climate but it is nice to be environmentally friendly.

Roll on payday when I can attach the next panel

100W panel netted 400W's from the sky yesterday. Doesn't sound like much but that will power my laptop for over 24 hours. Technological improvements on my roof. technological improvements in efficiency of processors and ... free results cool

No it doesn't, I keep a regular eye on https://gridwatch.templar.co.uk/ and have done for a long time, it can certainly produce more than nuclear but 2:1 simply isn't correct, nuclear stays between 5.5 and 6Gw and only changes during maintenance and refueling, highest i've ever seen wind is about 8Gw.

Have a look now Wind 2.14 : 1 over Nuclear - you are right 2:1 isn't correct biggrin

Wind 11.59GW Nuclear 5.52GW Wind currently generating 35% of the electric to type this

I have seen it over 12GW and it will keep on increasing

Still think that wind turbines and most importantly all the switchgear around them will save the planet? Meet a gas called sf6, it’s 23,500 times more warming than Co2, guess where it’s used a lot?

Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

That 97% consensus originated in 2009 in an AGU survey where 75 out of 77 “climate scientists” said humans were the cause. J. Cook perpetrates that with his bogus “analysis”, and is even quoted as No. 1 reference at NASA on their climate consensus page.
