cool Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

I read an interesting article that said 3 million years ago, sea level was 33 to 60 feet higher than today. The earth was much warmer. Fortunately, the creatures at the time got together to reformulate their diet so they wouldn't fart as much, as well as ban jet travel and SUVs. Of course, that caused an ice age which ended about 11,700 years ago. What happened? Creatures forgot how to fart. They convened to rediscover the lost art of farting. Oh, and of course they started driving SUVs again. So now the earth is warmer. Much better than freezing to death. Thank you to all creatures that fart. biggrin

A LETTER FROM A CONSTITUENT ABOUT HOW HE ADVISED HIS TEENAGE DAUGHTER ON ‘CLIMATE CHANGE’:

After our daughter of fifteen years of age was moved to tears by the speech of Greta Thunberg at the UN the other day, she became angry with our generation “who had been doing nothing for thirty years.”

All seven of Germany’s nuclear power plants are slated to close by 2022, but questions remain about where the European country can safely bury nearly 28,000 cubic meters of radioactive waste that will stay there for the next million years, as CNN reported.

Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in Sydney

(quoted from Africa Rainfall Project: Badge Recognition Thread, message by TonyEllis)
My badge has just turned from green to blue (Sapphine)...

Just like the trees just outside my unit have turned from green to be lost in the blue smoke haze that hangs in the air from the giant fires here in NSW Australia. Have no idea of whether I will be even here to make the next badge as I live in a very vulnerable area. The fires are getting ever closer to the suburbs of Sydney. Many are now homeless having lost everything, 100s are being carted to hospital with respiratory problems from the smoke that hungs in the Sydney basin. Food prices are rising as we are also in the grip of a sustained drought. The whole of Syney are on water restrictions as the main dam water level drops and drops - no rain for months and fires in the catchment areas. Temperature in Western Sydney is forcast to be 47 Centigrade ( 117 F) in two days time.

I saw on Dutch TV (at the other side of the world) that a seven-day state of emergency was declared in NSW state by Australian authorities. Just read this: "At the Nullarbor weather station, the temperature of 49.9 degrees marked the hottest ever December day, anywhere in the world." (source)

NASA’s “Global Cooling” Announcement Destroys Global Warming Hoax
The climate alarmists just can’t catch a break. NASA is reporting that the sun is entering one of the deepest Solar Minima of the Space Age; and Earth’s atmosphere is responding in kind. “We see a cooling trend,” said Martin Mlynczak of NASA’s Langley Research Center. “High above Earth’s surface, near the edge of space, our atmosphere is losing heat energy. If current trends continue, it could soon set a Space Age record for cold.” The new data is coming from NASA’s Sounding of the Atmosphere using Broadband Emission Radiometry or SABER instrument, which is onboard the space agency’s Thermosphere Ionosphere Mesosphere Energetics and Dynamics (TIMED) satellite. SABER monitors infrared radiation from carbon dioxide (CO2) and nitric oxide (NO), two substances that play a vital role in the energy output of our thermosphere, the very top level of our atmosphere.“The thermosphere always cools off during Solar Minimum. It’s one of the most important ways the solar cycle affects our planet,” said Mlynczak, who is the associate principal investigator for SABER.

Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in Sydney

The impression given by the previous post is that the coming solar minimum will rescue us from global warming. From what I have read this is unlikely. But there are other prediction such as earthquakes. Interesting stuff?

Sea ice around Svalbard, Norway at the end of February 2020 is way above average, as the graph below shows – with more polar bear habitat now than there has been in two decades.
