Could threads announcing that a given project is running out of work or ending either be posted in Member News or marked as Global Announcement threads? Whatever the reasons a user has for wanting to know this (badge hunters, personal interest in project, etc.), this would be much simpler on us users than having to troll each project's forum threads.

Don't you use the 'Recent Threads' listings?
----------------------------------------It's very rare that I use the specific projects forum's threads except when I'm looking for a specific one that I know won't have been updated in recent history. ![]() |

'Could' is possible, but making project specific progress news global threads to appear over all Active Research index pages... don't know if they should be over all forums. Certainly those with a specific project interest will have headed over to the related research index and seen the sticky up top for e.g. FLU1 last work that got bumped every day since September 9.

I use to use the recent threads function but when Chat exploded with the for me irrelevant game threads, it gave too much chaff to wade thru. The point is to make communication of major events to as many users as possible as simple as possible. WCG seems to normally put out a newsletter mailing with the start of a new project and seems to try to get the word out that they have a new project. I think the end of a project is worth a similar effort. I'm not talking about progress updates while a project is active, just the end of a project.
----------------------------------------Sek, making an end of project thread global may be problematic in the way you mention. Making the announcement in Member News where it would be read only would not have that issue and was really my first thought. And yes, you're correct about my slang. ![]() |

For all I know there will be a end-of-phase mail as a newish policy, to say thank you and to alert those that have the set/forget approach for the project and no backup option ticked.

Would be a nice addition to the Recent Threads page to be able to exclude the Chatroom and Teams forums from the list. Sometimes you have little time but still want te keep up to date.. ![]() |

Who knows that day will come where you can tick boxes in your forum profile which forums go into the RT list.
