Interesting both coments, from Ingleside and Sander. Thank you.
----------------------------------------I have a W7 32 bit installed over Intel Quad running very well HPF2 and any other project, except for HCMD2. The same machine presented many errors running HCMD2. At that time, I think that could be the batches series on the place, due some coments in posts and so on, so I unselected HCMD2 project until pass many batches. I will restart it soon. ![]()

@ GIBA, I've done some testing on a laptop, which has a AMD Turion and 2 GB memory installed. It didn't have any problems on HCMD2 on Win7 64-bits.
----------------------------------------Edit: I'm running Boinc version 6.6.36. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Oct 4, 2009 11:56:53 AM] |

On the projects I am still gold badged I will be running the projects I am closest and furthest away the next badge until I get rubies. Once I get all of them up to ruby I will start the process again to get to emerald. I do a bit of "run everything" now and then to take a break. If I always did the same thing it would get boring :-)
The current exception is HPF2 which I can only reliably run on my wife's laptop where it is now the only project I am running. |

My crunching strategy is pretty simple I think - I prioritise my crunching in the following order:
----------------------------------------Priority 1: If a project is coming to an end shortly, I will dedicate all resource to it, to get to the next possible badge. If it's out of reach then I'll unselect it and let others get the available remaining WUs Priority 2: If a new project comes up and providing that no other projects are ending shortly, I will dedicate all resource to it until it reaches the level of the other active projects. Priority 3: If no projects are starting or ending, I keep all active projects balanced at the same level, same badges or other intermediate targets that I set myself. I check and uncheck projects as they reach these levels to keep them balanced (currently I have all active projects that are not ending soon on gold and I am working towards ruby) |

Ive been doing influenza for a bit, but now I am only going to do HCMD2 and HFCC. Its truly heartbreaking when children get seriously ill and die, long before they were supposed to. I know HCMD2 is not solely aimed at children, but the neuromuscular group of diseases include some pretty nasty ones, some of them taking the lives of children at a very early age. I hope these projects will lead to better treatments for these diseases.

Due to the fact, that I am an avowed badge-hunter, my strategy is quite simple:
----------------------------------------I try to achive the sapphire badge for all projects as quick as possible. And in the mean time, where no badge-improvement is possible (like right now ), I leave the decision to the Grid, which work will be sent out to my bots. And I really hope, that I will soon have a new challenge, so that I have one (or more) new badges within my collection... ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Oct 5, 2009 10:02:32 AM] |

Get every badge available, then guess what the next level of badge is going to be then crunch projects to that new level.
