I would like to join a new team but would like my points to transfer. This is for two reasons. First I have earned the points and this should be transferred. Second I am part of a team that is no longer participating. We are talking over 100000 points. Is this possible or do I have to start over with a new team?

Your member id always keeps all the points earned. However, team points are only awarded to teams when a current member earns them. So your personal statistics will always show what you have earned, but team points cannot be transferred to other teams.

Could someone explain the text I've placed in bold from the Help pages:
----------------------------------------"Points that you earn are only credited to a team if they are earned while you are a member of that team. Additionally, if you quit a team or join another team, then the points that you earned for your previous team will stay with that team. You can transfer credit you previously earned to a new team." I take this to mean I can transfer points earned before I joined any team – if correct then how do I do this? |

The key word is "new".
If you create a team, then you can transfer any points that aren't already assigned to a team to start your new team off with. Clear as mud? |

Ah, thank you… however I have just started a new team and the transfer of existing points didn't happen automatically so how do I transfer them?

Hello Baywhale,
My understanding has always been that teams only earn points from team members and never get points from any other sources. Any points you earn after joining a team become part of that team's score but any points earned earlier do not. I seem to be out of step here, so if your team does get some transferred points, let me know. Lawrence |

My unallocated points didn't transfer over to the new team when the results were updated – so maybe "You can transfer credit you previously earned to a new team" is just an error in the Help section?

Well, that's not what we wanted to hear :-(
May I ask what team it is you have created? I'm afraid I relied on Graham's FAQ for this, since I created my own team before I scored any points. If he's wrong, then the FAQ needs editing, and the help pages too. |
