Re: Boinc under Ubuntu gives Computation error on all WUs

If you have not crunched for a few days and had the client off, the counters are upset. Exit BOINC and delete all client_state.... xml files and restart client.

Re: Boinc under Ubuntu gives Computation error on all WUs

OK - I managed to 'remove' the client_state.xml files and reboot. When I start boincmanager it all happens so fast, and the trace is big (550Kb in a few seconds).
I have tried several times to copy part of the trace into the forum reply, but it keeps bombing. Please let me know how I can send the trace to you.

Re: Boinc under Ubuntu gives Computation error on all WUs

Hi,

There are file hosting services some have used here. Here's one found in the quick:

http://www.rapidshare.com/ or http://www.filedropper.com/

Just upload and provide link to the file so we can view it.

Re: Boinc under Ubuntu gives Computation error on all WUs

Hi, is that the stdoutdae.txt file? The format is strange.

See one line jumping out:

Mon 05 Oct 2009 09:07:24 SAST||[http_debug] HTTP error: Couldn't resolve host name

Did you actually receive a task? Seeing this line:

Mon 05 Oct 2009 09:09:08 SAST||Sending scheduler request: Requested by user. Requesting 14349 seconds of work, reporting 0 completed tasks

Mon 05 Oct 2009 09:09:14 SAST|World Community Grid|Message from server: (reached daily quota of 6 results)

Also see you got local prefs. Please clear them so the website device settings can take control.

Yes, also go to My Grid My projects and select All projects.

So, you got 6 tasks, now we'd like to see the error log from the Result Status page.

Re: Boinc under Ubuntu gives Computation error on all WUs

Hi Sekerob - the file is a copy of the messages in boinc manager.
As you saw, I got 6 tasks.
I only had local prefs to try and limit the number of tasks - didn't really help, so I stopped all new tasks rather. No other changes in local prefs.
Have you seen the Results Status Pages, or must I copy them for you?
Thanks for your help amigo - I really appreciate it.

Can't remember this minute if you posted a result log before, but yes you need to do that. Copy/Paste. These links expire quickly.
