Hello,
----------------------------------------I have got Core I7 CPU which have 4 cores and HT on - so it is possible to run 8 WUs at the same time. Now it is runnig only 1 or 2 - but I want to run 8... All the things at Boinc preferences are ok (use 100% processors and 100% time...) ... I think I know where is a problem, but I dont know how to solve it - two days back I set bad computer time - not 28.9. 2009 but 1.1.2008 ... this bad time were set 2 days and after that I saw it and set correct time.... but now Boinc is showing that actual WU will be finished by 209 days... of course it will take 2 hours and Boinc will download another one.... this situation is taking 2 days now..... I hope my english is enough good and you understand that.. :)) Can you help me please? :) ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by pepik.r at Sep 27, 2009 4:42:25 PM] |

Get Radical
----------------------------------------1. Stop BOINC and delete the TimeStats section in client_state.xml file More Radical 2. Stop BOINC and delete the client_state.xml and backups with similar names. The time fractions are just up that famous creek. edit: You dont say what version of client but a future one, currently alpha tested, is trying to keep all cores busy regardless of timestats... yet another clutch added to the scheduler.

The file is located in the Data_dir, which path you find in the startup message log of BOINC.

edit: You dont say what version of client but a future one, currently alpha tested, is trying to keep all cores busy regardless of timestats... yet another clutch added to the scheduler. In my experience all BOINC-clients tries keeping all usable cpu's busy, regardless of time-stats, but this isn't always possible due to servers responding with "Won't finish in time"... ![]() "I make so many mistakes. So...? Let's fix the timestats and then we move on to digging further if it isn't.

Great! I deleted TimeStats section from client_state.xml file and I am crunching 8 WUs at the same time again :) Thank you very much for your help Sekerob :) ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by pepik.r at Sep 27, 2009 7:42:27 PM] |
