Hello all,
I am new to this forum so I apologise if I have posted in the incorrect place. I have installed a new instance of BOINC on a computer however it has limited access to the internet so I have bumped up the additional work buffer to a few days. I won't have access to the machine before the return date of the projects so I have decided to abort the aditional projects and request some new ones a few days later so that the return date falls within my access to the machine. I went to request some more but it is throwing up the following error messages... 23/09/2009 2:28:06|World Community Grid|Sending scheduler request: Requested by user. Requesting 2136371 seconds of work, reporting 0 completed tasks 23/09/2009 2:28:11|World Community Grid|Scheduler request succeeded: got 0 new tasks 23/09/2009 2:28:11|World Community Grid|Message from server: No work sent 23/09/2009 2:28:11|World Community Grid|Message from server: No work is available for Help Fight Childhood Cancer 23/09/2009 2:28:11|World Community Grid|Message from server: No work is available for FightAIDS@Home 23/09/2009 2:28:11|World Community Grid|Message from server: No work is available for Help Conquer Cancer 23/09/2009 2:28:11|World Community Grid|Message from server: No work is available for The Clean Energy Project 23/09/2009 2:28:11|World Community Grid|Message from server: (reached daily quota of 4 results) I am guessing that the mighty BOINC server has decided that I am unreliable as I aborted a high volume of projects and now I am requesting a bunch more. Can anyone confirm that this is the problem? Oh well it means that the projects will miss out on 8 days of extra computing. Any information would be appreciated. Regards, Murray |

What can we say. The strategy to follow here would have been to first pump up the cache, then abort the jobs that would have expired before the next contact. Send a grovel mail to supportatworldcommunitygriddotorg asking for a quota reset is my suggestion.
----------------------------------------PS, The quota is automatically increased by factor 2 for each valid result returned until a device ceiling of about 320 per day overall has been reached.

Ok no problems, I more wanted to confirm that this was the case. It is too late to apply for a reset as I fly out soon, I managed to download a couple more tasks so it should be ok.
Thanks Sekerob. Regards, Murray |
