Alright guys, lets leave Canada alone. They have been conquered & quartered; their bags of milk lay empty in the streets.
VAB, Nothing left to prove. |

Posting and you is so latent. At TW repeat idiots are just permabanned. It's more entertaining and final than education.

Posting and you is so latent. At TW repeat idiots are just permabanned. It's more entertaining and final than education. I'd like to say as a Canadian, and a Tribalwar member... ... The Canadian WCG team (or at least what hey posted) is hardly a representation of what our people are like. Jetpacks > maple leafs, the end. |

Most of us are here to supply our spare CPU time and do some crunching, we hope, for the good of humanity (rather than a few drug companies). There cannot be any argument that to that end the events of the last few weeks have contributed hugely.
Apart from the creation of the WCG itself and the mass influx of 4000 odd members following my team mate Graham's efforts, the rivalry and competition between MOT & TW must rank amongst one of the biggest contributions to the pace we are getting through the HPF project. If you look back past the name calling, mud slinging, thread hijacking etc etc .. both teams engaged in some one-up-manship (with a feast of great graphics from both sides), spurred both sides to actively recruit (some of you may recall how MOT won the race to get CyberWire on board) and 'crunch' harder and longer. Yes there were 'casualties' along the way .. some people got rubbed up the wrong way, posts / threads got deleted etc but all in all I think both teams would agree that neither would be where they are today without the other. TW certainly fed off MOT to reach the level they have got to and whilst MOT would have got to the current position in time, I'm sure my team mates will agree that the last few weeks have given us more motivation, a sense of camaraderie and a feeling that a bit of competition isn't bad .I suppose it's the old good vs evil saga .. yes TW may have fed off us, caught & passed us but MOT have rallied together, gotten stronger and more determined and like me know & believe that it's only a matter of time before MOT take the WCG #2 spot behind Slashdot ..Julied's earlier posts were right on the money .. so c'mon guys .. step outside & have a scream if you want, sling some 'mud' back at TW or even MOT if it makes you feel better .. just jump in and have some fun There is one thing that'll be worse than a kick in the nuts for TW and that's when MOT take the fight back to them and cruise past them with flashing lights, graphics and millions of smilies thrown in for good measure .. so if all you non-MOTers wanna bring that day forward, come and join us today .. just the 'noise' we create for a new team mate makes all TW members cringe .. factDon't delay join today .. don't wait till after the to think that you could have been part of the team that beat & silenced TW ![]() |

Teams: This forum is for teams to communicate among members and recruit new members. Any post that is offensive can be removed by the Forum Administrator. This thread has been moved from the Teams forum since it contains communication between teams (as opposed to between members of a single team) and does not appear to be a recruiting attempt by any one team (recruiting threads that start with non-recruiting topics and contain recruitment-like posts from more than one team will be moved to the Chat Room). |

In other news, it's somewhat disappointing to see that SAKU still has to put "rather than a few drug companies" in parentheses when it's been made painstakingly clear that all the results produced by the World Community Grid are done for non-profit institutions and those same results are required to be put in the public domain for anyone to look at.

This thread seems to have gotten a little off topic... since the original question was:
Would the Admins care to comment on TW and MOTs little feuding and crap in the Canada thread? So yes, I'll comment. The feuding, etc. is inappropriate for the Team forum and team Canada's thread. All postings in the Forums must follow the forum rules. In case you missed those, there right here. If you haven't already, READ THEM NOW. That said, let's remember this: We're here to contribute to humanity. And while some people (we all know who they are) might say rude things to me for saying that, it really is the point of this whole thing. If you want to make fun of other teams in order to recruit more members, there are tons of free forum websites out there. You can start your own team forum (as many teams have, in fact, done) and say whatever you want on there. While you're on World Community Grid forums, though, keep in mind that everyone is here to help cure diseases, or otherwise enrich the lives of everyone in the world. Even if they came here to try to "take down" another team, they are helping the world (whether they like it, or whether they care, or not). If you have a complaint about a forum post or thread, there is a link to Contact Us at the bottom of every page. Just include a link to the post or thread in your email, and the World Community Grid staff will respond as appropriate. Veiled threats and/or abstract emails indicating that something is wrong will not help as much as providing a link to a post or thread. Including specifics is the best way to get what you want. Confusing or creeping us out is not. |
