Hey, Rudi, Ripcat and the rest of Team Canada. I think all of us understand how you feel.

But let's be honest. Since you chose to make a very funny and insightful (but mildly deprecating) remark about TW, Rudi, they simply used it as an excuse to fire away. Then a couple of other forum regulars jumped in the water and joined the fray.

It may seem like MOT and TW are fighting, but they're only screwing around. At this point I would call it "sparing with a worthy adversary." Underneath it there is the beginnings of a genuine respect and affection developing (although they will both scream when they read this).

The real point of this "style of banter" is to keep your wits sharp, your sense of humor alive and your ego in check. Personally, I am very grateful to TW for their crass and abrasive contribution to this forum.

Look back. Just let it alone if you don't want to play. Or, jump in and take a few friendly swings if you like. Either way, don't sweat it. It's all in fun and it will just blow away before you know it.

No one has any intention of "hijacking" any team's thread. TW is not really the Borg - sorry, TW, but it's true!

But if you are silly enough to swallow the bait, don't bother complaining about the lump in your throat.

That's not to say that you will not have some uninvited guests from time to time. So what? It's better than living behind bolted doors and shuttered windows, eh?

Have no doubts. We are all friends and team-mates here.

For the love of God! Will you people please stop your inane drivel about which is the biggest, sexiest, meanest team in the west, and just get on with doing what we came here to do?

Do you really think that driving other teams down the recruiting page with your pointless babble is going to enamour your team/s to anyone? Do you not understand that doing this kind of thing merely sickens reasonable people, those who genuinely want to do what little they can to help others? It damn well does not! It merely makes the more level headed and sane members of WCG want to go elsewhere to do there crunching, and there ARE plenty of other places to do it.

Get on with the crunching, get on with helping science, and forget your pathetic egos. There are some very nice people here, it is true. Unfortunately there are also some bloody-minded morons. Will you please, once and for all, understand that teams are supposed to be fun. They are not the be all and end all of our being with WCG.

they are a bunch of freakin' softies. I bet they would give France a go at seeing who could loose a war first. Its no wonder when the commonwealth games come around they rank below countries a 10th their size. No will to actually achieve anything other the to whine and moan. Must be a case of national ... well.. envy about the lack of size of a bodily part that we aren't allowed to say on the forums... cos the canadians will complain.

Banter between teams is healthy as it promotes teams willingness to beat the other people. Within WCG this ivolves doing more folding. Which is the goal of the whole site.
