nasher,
----------------------------------------As eluded before, and we will elude it again, the Init 3, quorum 2 is to speed up the quorum finding and to deal with those increase their buffer during testing causing a slow down of the validation. The techs/scientists need the results to launch projects and version updates for release into production. Want to buffer, than be prepared so see the system do it's part to optimize the speed of a Beta.

i understand on normal work an about might be helpful but with the Beta's being few and far between personally i wouldn't mind a bit of extra redundancy since i want my beta bronze You need to remember that the design of the system is to help the scientists develop and run their projects, not to help any of us get another shiny, useless badge. If 2 WU answers the question, then 2 WU it is (and you should be thankful that they need 2 WU not 1). |

I believe that all have been sent out. There may be a few makeups that need to be sent again to complete the test. But all new work units should be out in the wild.

I was actually lucky enough to get about a dozen of them. Most worked. A couple aborted by server. Down to last couple now.

It must have been quite a small beta. I didn't get any work units.

If you follow the Statistics > Project pages you can see how many were validated during the previous day or if you keep the calculator at hand then subtract the cumulative midday from last nights total to find the morning number. Usually a beta is very rapid distribution, sometimes within hours and mostly launched on Friday. DDDT-2 and CEP-2 betas are still on the board.
----------------------------------------Or bookmark: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread_thread,25793 though this is updated kind of bi-daily as a historical record of recent betas and sizes.
