HI,
What will happen if my WCG team rename to a new name? Does client need to change anything? I just registered a BOINC-wide team name and plan to merge couple teams within the country to this new team. thank you. Raziel |

First, WCG is not BOINC Wide team enabled as you surely know, so here it's a manual process. Just did this on a test account with a test team and saw nothing that required synchronization in terms of a CPTID or the like. This suggests the roll-up at BOINC is strictly name driven. Looking in the daily export file for BOINC I see just as sample:
----------------------------------------<type>2</type> <name>IBM Interactive</name> Think the types available to chose here are not totally same from what I rad about 1.5 years ago. That may have changed though. The client just follows what is communicated, on a by-project basis, but it's not a driver in any way. It's the account at the projects which for all team members get automatically updated. thanks for the prompt reply :)
Since I am not the captain of current WCG team, I need to make sure what will happen if captain change the team name? I suppose all members of the team still stay in the team and no need to change anything no matter what the team name becomes. Unless they manually login WCG web site to quit the team and join another. Is it correct ? |

Yes, the change made by the captain is instantaneous for all active and retired team members (to carry the points during the time they were regular team member).
----------------------------------------As for team BOINC Wide team creation, think it's just creation. No idea how it would work at BOINC project level. Just know that WCG had anti-hijack procedure in place long before BOINC realized that something needed to be done to prevent that.

I deeply regret enabling BOINC-wide teams for my team.
Unfortunately, there is no practical way to untangle it and back out. |

Teams merge seems successfully.
Couple teams united under BOINC@Taiwan now. WCG will still be my focus. (CEP Sapphire badge is only one week away~ ) May God bless us all. |
