Small historical update in ranking: 500--->400 13 days 400--->300 15 days 300--->200 24 days 200--->100 151 days This last jump in detail: ------------> 200--->150 104 days (Summer heat, holidays etc.) ------------> 150--->100 47 days (Temperatures go down) And now the next step if ever 100---> 50 Mamma mia! I did write this on 9 November 2010. Since then I am halfway to the objective and stand at rank 74 since now. A small update: 500--->400 13 days 400--->300 15 days 300--->200 24 days 200--->100 151 days (50 ranks in 75.5 days) 100---> 74 77 days ( 50 ranks in 154 days) this step is not bad at all but additional hardware kicked in and cold temperatures allow for maximum crunching effort. 74-----> 50 ?????? When will the progression curve which is asymptotic become flat. At infinity would say a mathematician. That is too far away.   |

I'm no mathematician, but I'd say that the rank progression curve becomes flat when either 1) You're #1 with no higher to go 2) Everyone with a higher rank produces the same or more points per day than you do. And rank progression can obviously become negative if lower ranks have a higher daily average production. If you wish, you can estimate when that will happen by comparing your daily production to everyone else |

WooHoo...100  That's funny in a way...just the way you intended. Well your still crunching away, and someday you may upgrade what you have. Me I'm at 23,000,000 points now in 2 years and a couple months. (I wasn't crunching since I started I went back to UD brilliant mind that I am) I'm hoping to have 40,000,000 by the end of the year but I too will lose a box in a couple months. So must scrape my pennies and find another computer. Luckily I found some work for a 3 month contract. That should pay off my rather large line of credit (bought a car heh) and maybe a new sandy bridge machine. Anyway you all have a good day Time for some  I'm having fun while helping out and that's all that matters. I don't take the badges and points too seriously.   |
