Re: Final Batches of DDD-T Phase 1 have been loaded.

I will reach gold on the next update. I aborted all other DDDT's that I had. There were only a few, but I hope they help someone.
Happy Crunching!

Got my gold batch and aborted a few WUs.
Ok I know, others are talking about one or two years DDDT. But gold is great for my little computer! :)

Re: Final Batches of DDD-T Phase 1 have been loaded.

We are validating the final workunits, analyzing all results, and developing drug insights from the Phase 1 data you produced. Do not be surprised if new DDDT-1 workunits show up in your cache from time to time since we will likely need to test an additional target or two to help refine our evolving drug predictions. Thus, although completed, DDDT-1 will remain officially active on the grid.

In that case, I'll put DDDT-1 active again. With about 100 days sort of the nice blue badge who knows I might get it sometime in the future...

The real hunters have had their chance, my turn again biggrin

Re: Final Batches of DDD-T Phase 1 have been loaded.

I had promissed an update after the dust settles.
Well it has not settled yet but it looks like I will also be about 100 CPU days short of goal. Before all the other badge hunters get on my case for taking their wus realize that with 22 cores that is only about 5 calanders days of project running.
I will also keep the project checked off just in case I can pull in a few more in the future.

I have a couple of system that apparently missed judged how much it could handle. I have a number of wu that will be late about this time tormorrow. I have seen in the past that credit is given even if you are a little late. So I ask the question. How late is too late? I am tring to decide how many of these to go ahead and abort.

Regarding crediting "too late" (i.e. no credis) is when the WU which had to replace your late one is back. So it depends on the speed of the replacement device which has got it. If it is a very fast machine it can be as little as very few hours after the original deadline.

Well, I got a credit for a too late result, even some hours after the replacement WU got returned. I can show you:
It was:
dddt1702f0321_ 100384_ 0-- 19-7-09 11:19:57 30-7-09 01:58:06 15.61 99.2 / 104.4
As you see it's more than 10 days.
The make up WU done by someone else:
dddt1702f0321_ 100384_ 2-- 29-7-09 11:17:58 29-7-09 17:14:44 4.61 128.0 / 104.4
As you see I still got the credit.
dddt1702f0321_ 100384_ 1-- 19-7-09 11:27:23 21-7-09 22:36:12 4.64 89.5 / 104.4 was also returned (2nd copy), much sooner by the device of someone else

Re: Final Batches of DDD-T Phase 1 have been loaded.

in my view people should not abort work units to help others get badges. if they do, seems to me they are causing delays in the research and more stress on the system.

i suggest you keep your 'badge fever' in check. thanks.

I personally wouldn't have aborted any WU's if we hadn't gotten new badges right when this project was ending.
But in order to help other crunchers I've broken that self imposed rule.

After a few minutes of being "No Reply" The server aborted anything that had not been started yet.
