Re: Max '2 Core' Recognitions thread Badge

Does this thread include people who might have 2 dual core machines loaded, but only use one machine at any one time?

Basically, yes - so long as you do only use 1 of the machines at any one time (i.e., the fastest you can possibly get to Gold from a standing start, is 45 days - and that's by using all the computing power you've got available, targetted at the one project).

Re: Max '2 Core' Recognitions thread Badge

Yay, finally got Gold in HPF2. Will switch my 3 cores over to DDDT, and see how far I can get before that project ends, doubt it will be gold, but already have 11 days processing for that project, so maybe I will manage a bronze.

Re: Max '2 Core' Recognitions thread Badge

Just managed a Bronze for DDDT before the WUs ran out, hopefully will manage a
Gold for HCC. Already have 26 days there previously, so should be doable.

Re: Max '2 Core' Recognitions thread Badge

SirBismuth,
Well done for your DDDT Bronze badge!
For HCC you have plenty of time, this project is still here for a very long time.

Cheers. Jean.

SirBismuth, Well done on your badge - 45 days does seem a long time doesn't it... those with multiple cores available to them, just simply don't realise as to how time can drag...

Re: Max '2 Core' Recognitions thread Badge

Thanks!

Yeah, because of the time it takes, decided to go for Gold in as many projects as possible, and then they go and introduce all these other badges.

Am looking at getting a Core2Duo/QuadCore machine at the end of this year, but that isn't a certainty yet. Will have to bow out of this thread if that occurs.

Well done SirBismuth, your efforts are truly worth applauding - as, it certainly does seem an eternity go reach Gold when your resources are limited applause
