Hello,
it calculated around 6 hours for a package and it uploads it. But in the Results Status at the website there is an error and 0 points granted: <core_client_version>6.2.28</core_client_version> <![CDATA[ <message> Maximum memory exceeded </message> ]]> How it works, uploads without error and then this error on the website? |

If you check your messages in the BOINC Manager messages tab, you should see the error reported there (or in the logs).
This isn't an error that requires user intervention, so you may not have noticed it. |

Hi, mhhh - but what should I do to avoid this error. The upload of finished packages ends without an error in the messages tab.
But on the Results status website are only "Error" or "in Progress". Maybe this error log from the website could help to analyze the issue: Result Log <core_client_version>6.2.28</core_client_version> <![CDATA[ <message> - exit code -529697949 (0xe06d7363) </message> <stderr_txt> Failed to get VersionInfo size: 1812 INFO:[11:45:22] Start AutoGrid... autogrid: autogrid4: Successful Completion. Oh, I see. This isn't a case of you hitting the work unit memory limit, you have actually run out of memory.
(Despite this technical difference, you will still see this in the message log. Look for the computation failure line, not the upload.) The task memory use is not unusual, so it must be something else on your system. How much memory do you have, and how are your virtual memory settings configured? |

Hi tlukas,
I will sound off without carefully examining the situation. Reboot. Some process hiccupped and created a monstrous memory leak on your CPU. Restore your system to a known good stste. Lawrence |

Hi lawrencehardin, thank you. But the system is an out of the box IBM client on T400, a few weeks old. If I would restore it I would be in a few hours at the same stage as I am now. Thats why I woul prefer to identify this process/memory leak. May be its Notes8 but first I will have a look if I get an analyse tool. If someone has a tip for me for such a tool to analyse the memeory I would be thankful.
