Re: smilesmile Join "MyOnlineTeam" Today - Chapter 37 smilesmile

Announcing the birth of:

Lightning Larry

Antec 900 case (4 120mm fans and 1 top-mount 200mm fan), Q6600 quad processor, 3 x 9800GT cards, Win7 RC 64-bit OS.

BTW: I did clean up the cabling before closing the case. biggrin

Now I can run 8 cards in only 3 machines and all of them are running cooler than they were when they were alone in a machine. I have not a clue as to why. Tomorrow I will test to see if I can run the whole farm on 2, 20-amp circuits ... I suspect the answer may be no. sad

@ Jonathan: I mailed your package today ... delivery on Thursday. Get that machine up and running!!! We need you at Yoyo and GPUGrid.

Re: smilesmile Join "MyOnlineTeam" Today - Chapter 37 smilesmile

Congrats to the proud Papa! At this rate, you may get to the point some day where you can crunch year round! biggrin With cooler machines, you'll at least last longer before the heat gets too much. Here I thought it would take the A/C industry coming up with an economical version of the residential ice machine. Commercial versions are out there now. They basically freeze a very large block of ice at night when power demand (and rates in many cases) is lower and use it's melting during the day for cooling. Until then DM, you'll just have to keep standing in front of the open freezer door! wink

It doesn't show in my BOINC results that credit was granted but I assume it was...just downstream of the BOINC credits page.

Boy DM. You can tell those machines are brothers..the look so much alike.

As I recall, when the admins have given credit for problems in the past, it gets included in your totals but doesn't show in Results Status for each WU.

Oh wow! Just noticed that I finished my first decade of crunching last night. Hmm, wonder what the crunching equivalent of puberty is? laughing

Re: smilesmile Join "MyOnlineTeam" Today - Chapter 37 smilesmile

You should be able to see the granted credit in the results table. We do this both for members to see what we did as well as it allows us to 'mark' results that have had credit granted.

RT - Your 120 hours workunit was actually a different problem. There have been 1-2 workunits a week that behave as that one did. We are looking into that problem also. I have granted credit for that issue as well.
