It seems the professional appologisers are out in full force here today. Those for WCG's problems, those of CEP, those of FAH. I sure hope FAH can recover all the data we provided. Big bummer if it is lost. Plenty of professional appologisers in other projects too ... GPUGrid ran out of space, AQUA ran out of test work, Milkyway is still doing their normal circle jerk. I cling to YoYo ... . It must be the summer doldrums in the DC world. ![]() ![]() |

Here's a link to an article I wrote about America's Don't Ask Don't Tell policy. Take a look if you're interested. I might end up trying to publish a condensed, abridged version of the article as an OpEd.

I'm slowly learning more about computers, graphics cards, etc. Still not enough to be dangerous.. But hey, I did learn what a KVM switch is for.. Dr. Mike.. I just threw away an old KVM switch that had PS2 connectors only. Big cumbersome thing and none of my machines had the old PS3 connectors. I replaced it wtih a new little one with a remote button and USB connections for .... I think it was $20. Great improvement in the technology. |

The rest is going thru the process of getting the approvals to spend the money involved and such. Typical business. |

Yep, I have an old SerView 24 port PS2 KVM switch in the closet. The 24, 25 ft cables must weigh over 75 pounds alone. New (10+ years ago) it was over $2,000. I have a small 8 port one now. ![]() |

I use a couple of old 8 port Autoview Commanders with the PS2 connections. On one of my machines the PS2 ports went bad so I was able to find a USB to PS2 converter. Cost about 5 bucks. Yes those cables are heavy, the keyboard cable has dual PS2 and AT connectors and the mouse cable has both PS2 and serial connectors. I only wanted a couple of these switches, but ended up buying a whole box of them plus cables for $25 at an auction. They were probably expensive when new, but now are just about obsolete even though they still work well. Cheers
