Bluntly, anyone not running 100%, under all conditions is put on the wrong foot. It was a knee-jerk change, sacrificing the good 'at a glance' timekeeping info of 70+ odd CPU using projects for a few GPU crunching projects [not going to debate this here]. In 6.6 BOINC Manager Advanced View select a running task line and the properties button on left and you get the CPU time info and more... (got a, yes it's open source, one off version with both columns showing as a test. And I'm keeping that BM part with every trial update. ;o)

Thanks for the update. It was just on my XP computer that I only use for WCG the elapsed time was double than the CPU time, but on my Vista computer (that I sometimes throw in a few SETI's) the elapsed time was only 30 min more.

I'm having problems with this project. It appears to have stoped processing after compleating 9.7% but the clock is still running. I have uninstalled the software and then downloaded again but the problem remains. Has anyone any advice?

Has anyone any advice? Yes. You might start with posting the beginning of your message log to allow us to know much more about your configuration. It would also be useful to tell us the complete name of the apparently stuck work unit (WU) and how long it has been stuck at 9.7 %. Each HCMD2 WU consists of several different computations that we call "positions". Beta tests have revealed that some positions may be extremely tough to compute and during that time the percentage does not move while the runtime is obviously going on. This is just normal. Until now more than 5 million HCMD2 WUs have been returned with no real case of a looping WU reported yet. But some have been good at looking like looping... So please allow us to learn more about your particular case and we will see if you have found the first case Cheers. Jean. |

Interestingly the last few days the mean job run time has been climbing rapidly toward the 4 hour mark. Either the strategy of cutting in different order...parent - child, delay wingman... is working better or the device mix is changing, but doubt latter. At any rate, 3.64 hours and seeing more and more jobs that are managing to do 4.75 / 5.5 hours on the quad. That sure cuts a bunch of file transmissions at same production.

I wonder if we have started to crunch less demanding WUs.
----------------------------------------Under XP32 I see more parent WUs able to complete, which gives more long WUs (in the range you said) and less child WUs which were usually shorter and even less grand child which could be very short. Under Ubuntu 64 I already had most parent WUs able to complete because of better performance, but there are still many child and grand child WUs, maybe because of more older machines running a free Linux 32 OS? I don't know if it is related but I have also noticed a lower share for HCMD2 these last days. It used to have the largest share during the previous weeks while it tends to be lower than HCC, HFCC, HPF2 and NRW these last days. Cheers. Jean. |

I've just uploaded several CMD2 WU's that ran between 5 and 7 hours which show as 4 hours on Results Status. Anyone else noticed similar? Some times when you restart computer, your time will roll back |

After a short discussion about the like and the not like with someone, he did exactly that what the OPEN SOURCE base of BOINC allows to. Brew your own client (obviously not supported), so here a concept how it looks on mine, showing both CPU and Elapsed (Wall Time), which gives me a one stop view if efficiency is up or down... it's about 99%.
----------------------------------------Now the next on the wish list is selectable and reorderable columns ;>)
