Hello,
----------------------------------------first of all, I am sorry for my mistakes of language, I'm not english... I have decided to help FightAids with BOINC. The program started to calculate yesterday and was 30% at 1am. I switch off my computer and this morning, I look the program and it was only 5%. I don't understand what happened... Hello yoannm,
The first thing to do is to bring up BOINC Manager and select the Messages tab. Then paste the messages here. This will tell us what is happening on your system. the BOINC file stdoutdae.txt has all the old messages made by BOINC since you installed it, but we might figure out what is going on without it. My first worry is with this line 15/06/2009 19:34:52||Reading preferences override file This means that you have a preferences file on your computer that overrides the website. This can cause confusion. Get rid of the local preference file by bringing up BOINC Manager and select Advanced - Preferences - Clear. Sign in to the World Community Grid website, select My Grid - Results Status. The Results Status page is explained in Start Here at http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=6105 What does it say about your FAAH job? Lawrence |

Thank you very much for your help, Yoann Yoann, the job that was 30% when you went to bed may not be the same one that restarted. The log you posted shows an HCMD2 job too (edit: dual core I now see). As per Lawrence, look in the My Grid > Result Status page what the FAAH job ending in. The Status column tells what the result was. Different point is that you say you chose to participate in FightAIDS, but are running a Help Cure Muscular Dystrophy - Phase 2 job. If you want to do FAAH specifically, go to My Grid > My Projects and select research you want. Make sure to tick the "If there is no work... send me work from another project" at bottom and save. Very sometimes there is temporarily no work for one or the science. Could be technical, could be that we were really quick in finishing the batches. In principle jobs loose a little bit of progress when restarting, but should not go back that much. Maybe a fluke in the oroginal progress calculation. Did the time computed also jump back? I hibernate/sleep the computers. Then it always resumes at the same second it was halted. cheers

Status is Pending Validation. Now you have to wait until completing the lower of the 2, suffix _0-- has been computed and returned by you. 99.999% sure the result will be verified as valid. You posted the log for the other copy of this FAAH unit, which someone else computed in 9 hours and 27 minutes. So you are right, the FAAH unit did not resume from the last check point. Apparently, something made it start over from the beginning. There is nothing obviously wrong on the Message tab that you have posted. Maybe it will work in the future? If not, then we can set an option that will write a message when BOINC writes a check point. This will let us examine the problem more closely.Lawrence |
