I suggest Diamond Badge (logo and background Clear).
I beleive , when data cruncher reach gold , they jump to another one, leaving data to be crunch on the previous project... ![]() |

aye, but then when they have all the golds they normally contribute to the project they like the most or all of them. in fact, the really devote already get a year on each project be4 switching to a new one. this is a previously suggested idea, but i'm not sure if it's in the works or not, so it's a good thing you asked.

I missed out on a badge because I only processed one workunit for it, and didn't do enough work for a gold for another. Badges were announced after-the-fact for dead projects. Since this "badge-for-a-year" talk comes up now and then, I think I'll do a year's work for everything I can, in the meantime, so as not to miss out.

I'll do a year's work for everything I can, in the meantime, so as not to miss out. Or two... ![]() Or many... Diamond and other kind of new badge level was suggested many times before. Will be great if WCG provide a status about what are in consideration to change in this subject. About the missed badges or badge levels in projects that was ran in the past UD times, and which used to have just a little bit of WU's distributed, like projects HCMD, GC and HDC, which by far are in the few WU's project compared with other regular ones (exception will continue be AFC, that have a distinct approach), I ever try think in a way to suggested something that make sense to change it, but until now I don't have much more points to coment on that. For sure, if all old active crunchers to know the badge rules before it be launched in WCG, or at least since at begining of WCG, the scenario for badges awarded in this specific 3 projects will be very very different today. But badges was launched many time before it, and I believe that the decision about rules to get it was based on a reasonable criterias at that times. ![]()

90 days for bronze, 6 months for silver, 1 year for gold, 5 years diamond, 10 years platinum.

Past levels at which badges were attained will not be changed, nor will new arrivals be met with higher requirements for the same metals. If you look in the sidebar of the forums, all gold for all members are equal, with the sole exception of ACAH as per the Help information.

Some of us can do stuff like this (And I applaud you for all of your golds ) but I for one remember back when I started on a single computer. Back then there was no way I would ever even get a bronze badge for all of them, or even a gold badge at all... So while I'm all for giving encouragement and goals for the big guys, we need to remember not to intimidate the little guys or make them feel insignificant in any way- they are who this grid is founded upon. Sure there are some super crunchers, but they started as little crunchers. |

There is no way that WCG would change the levels needed for the current badge set. We hope only to have them add new badges for higher levels, since there are people with more than one machine too.

For those new members, Gold in each of the current projects is still (just) attainable - albeit a long way off with just the 1 computer (especially if it's only got the 1 processor in it - not a dual/quad processor etc.). Goals need to be attainable, not impossible Yes, sure, bring on higher badge levels to celebrate those who are able to contribute more, although don't loose sight of those numerous crunchers who just keep plodding along in the background ![]() ![]() |
