landolini, If your screen size is too small and/or if you cannot use a higher screen resolution another way to avoid your problem is to reduce the size of the fonts at system level. If your eyes allow it, obviously. For example when my 19" screen is set in 800x600 resolution changing the fonts size from the default 10 to 8 does the trick. Cheers. Jean. Can't he also put the cursor on the bottom line he can see, in the box of course, and then tab to the net section which might bring it up to where he can then see it. |

I tried that one but it the cursor went off screen.
----------------------------------------Alternate solution before the prefs interface in 5.10 was created was what all advanced users did who wanted to manage the controls at host level. Visit the global_prefs_override.xml and edit the respective line, save and use the menu "Read local prefs file". <max_cpus>4</max_cpus> number of concurrent science processes (A)The A and B options work to always take lowest of the 2, thus even with 4 physical cores in the sample and 4 allowed, 99% would round down and allow 3 cores. Real cross platform user friendly and nobody can't deny ;>)

Can't he also put the cursor on the bottom line he can see, in the box of course, and then tab to the net section which might bring it up to where he can then see it. This is an interesting suggestion, but only when you know the layout of the window and the format of the fields by heart (which was obviously not the case here). Because this window is not scrollable what you see does not move and you have to type without seeing what you do. Personally I would not recommend it. Cheers. Jean. |
