Re: I cannot raise CPU % ............

That last image made me laugh, Sekerob biggrin

I have a P-II with Ubuntu, and since the graphics on that machine are pretty old, it's set at 800x600 resolution, and it's difficult to drag that window to show the last part. Maybe that's landolini's problem.

Re: I cannot raise CPU % ............

Sorry, I know about 800x600, but on mine I can still move a window up partly off the screen and expand the window down. But, I just set my screen to 800x600 and the preferences fit in comfortably... all the room to move (John Mayall)... it was an old compliant v.v. the Simple View.

If you look in landolini's screenshot you see that the last line / box is partly obscured, but I think it too hmmm there's no hint of a drag-triangle in any version of BOINC seen so far. If you hover the mouse on the right hand bottom corner the mouse changes too indicating the frame can be enlarged.

Just me, not getting what others are not getting blushing

Re: I cannot raise CPU % ............

As I said in my linux "Drag down" doesn't work...
Anyway I solved setting in web "Device" %CPU= 80 ( with 70 it doesn't work !)
and doing Project > Update in Boinc manager.
Now BOTH CPU works at 80 % .
Many thanks.

Re: I cannot raise CPU % ............

I'm baffled. I've done this drag/expand in Linux too some time ago.

Re: I cannot raise CPU % ............

landolini is right, this can be a real blocking problem under Linux, depending on the monitor size and the used screen resolution. With a 19" screen the 1024x768 resolution does not show the whole window but there is still enough room on the screen for moving and enlarging it. But in 800x600 on the same 19" display the preferences window is using the whole space and it cannot be either moved upwards or enlarged.

I don't know why these windows are not set with the necessary scroll bars which would definitely and reasonably fix this problem. confused

Cheers. Jean.

Re: I cannot raise CPU % ............

You can't push a frame over the top of a window in 800x600 and than expand it at the lower side.

Yes, the scrollbars is another (in)consistency. They've put it in 6.6 on the properties screen and missed the opportunity... what's new you might ask and it's not getting any better imho [Well you've read in the back room on that topic and where we're heading ;-]

Re: I cannot raise CPU % ............

landolini,
If your screen size is too small and/or if you cannot use a higher screen resolution another way to avoid your problem is to reduce the size of the fonts at system level. If your eyes allow it, obviously.

For example when my 19" screen is set in 800x600 resolution changing the fonts size from the default 10 to 8 does the trick.

Cheers. Jean.
