Re: how does it work ?

The time is an estimate.

Sometimes the estimate is wrong.

So long as you are making progress, there is usually no cause for concern.

Thanks.

I have also noticed this issue, I have now up to 24 hours estimated time to complete some units. I agree they are making progress and at the end they will take four and a half hours more or less to complete.

However, as I'm running other BOINC projects in the same machine, my concern is that such estimations make the manager scheduler think it will not meet the deadline and allocate more resources in average to WCG than defined in my preferences. Could it be possible? confused

Moreover, with those estimations it is not possible to build a buffer of unit since the time calculation "show" the BOINC Manager that there is work enough for many days, which is not the actual situation.

Is there any reason why this is happening (the long estimations to complete)?

Re: how does it work ?

Trotador, project weighting decisions are based on historical information, not estimates.

You are right that poor estimates can affect the contents of your queue, causing it to be underfilled. However, as BOINC gets more information about task sizes, the estimates will improve.

You just need to give it some time.

Re: how does it work ?

Sì, con troppi è necessario, purtroppo.

(Yes, with too many it's best, regrettably)
