I'm currently finishing a CEP wu, but I see the next scheduled unit to work on is HCC. Is there still a "shortage" of Energy units?

I have one quad running 100% CEP and it is getting WU without any problems.
If you run both, CEP and HCC on your computer, you will receive more HCC WU because the project is bigger than CEP is (more CPU time needed). If you want more CEP work, set it as only project for your computer :) |

There is not a mechanism for work share. I have CEP selected as one of my projects and since starting wcg again, I have had one wu. Of course, I can switch other projects off but then if the selected project runs dry for whatever reason, wcg becomes inactive.
----------------------------------------I can't say this is a great problem, but if someone is pushing for a medal in a project, it becomes an issue for them. Would be nice to know the wu priorities for all the projects, is that available somewhere? [Edit 1 times, last edit by adrianxw at Jun 5, 2009 9:06:32 AM] |

Selecting only CEP and the "If there is no work... give me something else" will fill in whenever there is no CEP work. There's a 'but' to that, certain computers always seem to fail particular jobs, so ways of automation are being considered to stop sending these devices those jobs and retest them once in a while. All the other option variations have separate threads, so lets not divert into that.

Selecting only CEP and the "If there is no work... give me something else" will fill in whenever there is no CEP work. Yes, that would work. Of course, there is no control over what is sent though. Sort of a "backup project" chain identifier(s). There's a 'but' to that, certain computers always seem to fail particular jobs, so ways of automation are being considered to stop sending these devices those jobs and retest them once in a while. All the other option variations have separate threads, so lets not divert into that. I have not had any failures. Are the failing wu types all from the same project(s)? That, to, would be nice to know. [Edit 2 times, last edit by adrianxw at Jun 5, 2009 10:36:21 AM] |
