I am running Bionic on 4 computers at home. The computes are all using the same logon and password. Will these computers all be doing the same project at the same time? Or should I have a different logon/account for each computer so that they are doing different projects and maximizing their potential?
Thanks. --Bill |

Yes, keep using the same account for all of them.
----------------------------------------Next you can use Device Profiles if you want to control which projects you want to run on all/each computer. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at May 30, 2009 5:23:02 PM] |

Hello DCPilot,
Will these computers all be doing the same project at the same time? If you look at the Messages tab of BOINC Manager after booting up, you will see that each computer is assigned a separate Computer ID. So do use the same member name and login. You can create 3 different profiles with different project lists (Home, Work and School) and assign different groups of computers to each profile. If that is not enough, you can use the Advanced Preferences tab in BOINC Manager to create a special one-computer only list of projects, etc. This is invisible from the website so we do not recommend using this before you have run out of profiles on the Internet.
