Point Awards?

9.5 days of work, 166 WU returned, only 22K points?

As my quad core works exclusively on this project, my ranking takes a large step in reverse. Guess which project gets dumped the instant I get my badge?

n4zhg, World Community Grid balances awarded credit exactly. Overall, no project earns more credit than another.

This does vary slightly depending on specific computers.

Makes perfect sense. For a particular type of hardware, some projects run much more efficiently than others. Still worth checking again in future, as credit levels can change appreciably over time.

You do this for badges?
Might I suggest you reexamine your motivations.
One of the most inspiring people I ever met was a kid by the name of Steven Hunter. He had MD.
He was at the stage where he could still walk but at times his legs would fail and he'd fall flat on his face. Never hear him complain, just pick himself up and start walking again.
You meet people in your life like this and they make an impact on you.
I haven't seen him in 25 years but I'll never forget that kid.
Think on this a bit and maybe you'll understand that sure the little icons are fun but they are just small symbols that in reality mean nothing.
The work is all that matters.

very well said.
As a person who had seen several people suffering form neromuscular diseases, I couldn't agree more.

Re: Point Awards?

Who cares why people do it. They're still doing it.
They're paying the extra electric bill and donating their machines to multiple efforts. Thumbs up to them.

Re: Point Awards?

I agree with scribe, have you checked how many are still pending validation? I have some which are still waiting to be validated a week after I returned them, it seems I have slow wingmen.

I'm a mixed on just chasing ranking/badges. I do drop projects I have gold on, but I do intend on adding them back once I've got the all availible badges, then its upto the servers what work I get.... Unfortunately only having one machine does mean it takes a while. But such is life.

Re: Point Awards?

While I'm also guilty of working for the badges. I do have my favorite research projects.

I look at any work I do on the others projects as helpful.

Re: Point Awards?

I am also a badge hunter but when not hunting badges I run my favorites (seen in other posts)

most the projects im willin to put so much effort into and others may be just to get the badge but it dosnt matter what you crunch as long as your computers are crunching i am happy.

every computer who is not crunching out there makes me sad i dont care what they are crunching as long as they are doing something

sorry if this project has made you unhappy with your points
