2; To make sure you'll not get any re-issue-work with shorter deadline, set "Computer is connected to the Internet about every N days" to 3.1 days (or higher). Thanks, but I do not find that particular setting anywhere in the WCG version of BOINC Manager (6.2.28). The BOINC Manager is using a slightly shorter form, either to save space or since it haven't been updated to show the same as web-preference: "Connect about every N days". For anyone using translations in BOINC Manager, it likely also shows something different...  "I make so many mistakes. But then just think of all the mistakes I don't make, although I might." |

It's right there! (the one you have on 0.2000 days).
Yep... that's where I was looking, and I don't find an option called ''Computer is connected to the Internet about every N days'' Here's the 'network usage' tab in my copy of 6.2.28  |

If that's what you're going to call the FAQ now, why isn't there a link to it in the http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/listthreads?forum=3 forum and at the top of the http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=21501 thread there? Thanks. The forum software is being updated pretty soon, so who knows what changes/improvements we're gonna see, but thanks for your observations. And of course you are most welcome to contribute to the FAQ's [I think I initiated some 50 or 60, and kept them reasonably up to date]

Yep... that's where I was looking, and I don't find an option called ''Computer is connected to the Internet about every N days'' Here's the 'network usage' tab in my copy of 6.2.28 http://my.core.com/AD/55/zoso/BOINC/Manager/Preferences_NetworkUsageTab.png There is in 2 places an FAQ http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=17033 that lists out the names of the prefs that have a different title on website and client [subject to change]. Our FAQ's are very hard to find and navigate I take from these pointy comments, which is why they have in part been ported to a wiki, with plan to replace Start Here forum complete. Help porting the rest!
