Since last week (friday?) after some HCMD2 Beta's, one of my machines is running BOINC on only one core. This happened after the download of some WU's that were indicated as WU's with more than 100 hours runtime. There were some normal (HCMD2) WU's and some Beta WU's. These 100 hours WU's ran of course around 1 to 2 hours (I run HCMD from the start of the project, so the estimates should be ok).
I have tried to set the number of cores to be used to 25% and back to 100%, but that didn't help. Currently I don't accept any work anymore for this host and I think I will reset the project on it, but I'm not sure if this will help... Rebooting doesn't help either. Does somebody else has an idea to get those other 3 cores back running again? Nothing seems to have changed on your website profile since this
----------------------------------------(last modified 14-Mar-2009 08:57:54) remained unchanged. Clear the local preferences in BOINC via Advanced > Preferences > Clear button, right top, and see what happens. PS: The client asked for 172800 seconds of work or exactly 2 days. Possibly your client is confused due the hundred hour jobs, so a reset may be the answer to get the rDCF to return to normal.

See my added note above. You can stop the client completely, find the client_state.xml and search for the Duration Correction Factor in the <project> section for WorldCommunityGrid. If it's for instance 10.00000 the client is not likely to fetch new work. Backup the file and edit with notepad back to 1.000000 (6 decimals).
----------------------------------------I'd though expect some message to have appeared but seemingly not.

I've never reset a project, not needed to. So does resetting the project not affect my other clients?
And where exactly is the client_state.xml stored, the finder doesn't find it... ![]() |

Resetting does not impact your other clients, just WCG in the problem client. It does loose all work in progress which I wanted to help you avoid, by proposing the stop client service, edit client_state.xml [in the data_dir 24-5-2009 18:10:22||Data directory: C:\ProgramData\BOINC shown in your message log] and start the service back up.
