Suspending Computation - No Recent User Activity

OMG why does the software do this. I stop using the PC and it stops working on all Grid calculations also.

When I watch the messages tab I see this meesage

" Suspending computation - no recent user activity"

If I move a mouse it then reports

" Resuming computation"

This started about 8 days ago; I've made NO changes to the setup. I upgraded BOINC software to most recent today with no effect.

Well, you must have selected the Power Saving preset profile or the option to set exactly that... stop computing when there is no keyboard mouse input for 20 minutes. Change to Maximum Output preset if you're up to it ;>)

Edit: Of course you do this on My Grid > Device Manager > Device Profile

Re: Suspending Computation - No Recent User Activity

This is because your computer is set to the "Power Saving" profile, which is designed to suspend computation after a while, to allow the computer to go to sleep.

Change your preferences - I recommend the "Maximum Output" setting.

Make sure you clear any local preferences, and set your preferences on the web, here: https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/devi...iguration.do?name=Default

Thanks, you were correct although I didn't touch the settings .. hence why I was confused. Changed from Custom to Minimum and back to custom settings and all my pc's seem to be getting back to work after they check online.

Thanks again for quick replys :D
