Install BOINC on domain controller

I am trying to install BOIC v6.2.28 windows on a domain controler, but I am getting the following error:
"Installing World Community Grid BOINC for windows on a domain controller is not currently supported."

For my development domain controler (no other users), is there a way to get around this error message and have BOINC installed?

I am running on Windows 2008 64-bit.

Re: Install BOINC on domain controller

Try version 5.10.45

This one is IMHO the latest version, which runs on Windows 2003, configured as a DC. If it also works with Windows 2008 I can't tell you, but it's worth a try...

Cheers & (hopefully) happy crunching

As already mentioned, you'll need to use v5.10.45, download this boinc_5.10.45_windows_x86_64.exe client. I've been using this client on win2003/64 without any problems, and it should also work on win2008. To be on the safe side I'll recommend to install somewhere else than under "c:\program files\boinc" that is the default, use something like c:\boinc or something...

Making v6 work with DC has been planned for a long time, but has been delayed multiple times, with the current plans being for the v6.10.xx-clients.
