I often get told that Windows Explorer can't open my WCG page, and just keep trying until it works.
----------------------------------------Trying to open it with Safari I get the following message: Too many redirects occurred trying to open “http://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/j_security_chk_wrapper”. This might occur if you open a page that is redirected to open another page which then is redirected to open the original page. It does appear to be looping around before finally deciding that the game is not worth the candle. Robert [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Apr 15, 2009 10:47:00 PM] |

That took me to the home page where I was invited to log in. As soon as I tried to log in I got the same message as above.

When this happens, just let it time out. THen refresh again and it will work. If you stop it in the looping it will not work. Once you have it back on track it will be ok until the security wrapper times out again.
I have WCG, along with other projects open all the time, each day I click on the wcg page and refresh and have to wait for this new behavior to exhaust itself. Not sure why it happened (I thought it was because I am using the beta of Safari), but may be a minor change to the code in the page that gives us this new "feature" ... |

Version 4 Public Beta (5528.16)
Which could be a bug in the beta, or in the way WCG does things ... Like I said, the issue seems to be when the security system decides that too much time has passed since the last validation (12 hours?) ... refreshes before that time are no problem. Letting the browser go through the loop until failure and then refresh again also works ... |

I have been using Safari for a while because of all the errors I get with IE. Sometimes I will get a message that Safari can't open a page because the Server didn't respond. I just do a reload and it normally works the 2nd time. This happen on any site not just WCG.

I've had this redirect issue happen to me on a few sites with Safari, and, ironically enough, had it happen to me with WCG this morning an hour or so before seeing this post.
Please reply if you are seeing this issue and the work-around posted above doesn't work for you. |

I am still seeing the issue and the workaround above does not work for me if I understood it. I have tried restarting Safari and have tried deleting the cache files.
It's not a problem for me as I can use Windows IE, but I reported it for info. |
