@Dataman - Are you in Southern California? You seem to have the same weather as me. I live in the Mojave Desert right next to Edwards AFB. I am in Northern California in the Sierra Foothills. About 35 miles East of Sacramento. I know your area well though. That streach between Cramer Corners and Mojave is were I see how fast my Saleen will go. Straight, flat and nowhere for the CHP to hide. ![]() Yes - that is quite the stretch. A lot of years ago, I had a 68 Camaro and got it up to 142 MPH. I should be dead - those tires cost me about $45 each and weren't rated at that speed. Ah... good times! ![]()

I got the Saleen up to 153 and I swear it would do an honest 160 if I had not run out of real estate (and testicles) as I came into Mojave. As the you know, the first thing you encounter as you run from East to West into Mojave is the CHP sub-station. There was a time when the locals called the "T" intersection as you turn right into the town as the "Roadrunner Graveyard". That would be Plymouth. Appears one or more missed the turn, jumped the railroad track and landed in the desert. ![]() EDIT: Saleen ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Dataman at May 1, 2009 4:53:46 AM] |

Maybe this card is the devil... it made my desktop crash.
---------------------------------------- ..twice.Either that or I can't power a Q660, 260 and a 9800GTX+. I turned off my Quad crunching so that should be sufficient energy. [Edit 2 times, last edit by Former Member at May 1, 2009 4:31:24 AM] |

I was doing 125. The CHP couldn't use radar at the time, so he figured I was doing about 80. The speed limit was 55 at the time, so that little stunt cost me $125!

Jeez - this GTX 275 runs hot! On the 260 I could leave the fan on auto, and it would stay around 78C. If I leave the fan on auto on the 275, it wants to run about 87C. I have to run the fan at 65% to get this thing down to 80C.
----------------------------------------It's starting to sound like a C130 on take-off roll in my dining room! ![]()

They also seem to be more durable at high temps than CPU's. Don't worry ... be happy ... about the credits. ![]() ![]() |

My Camaro was red and I used to get pulled over even when I wasn't doing anything wrong! I have an HHR now and it weighs next to nothing. The engine is a 2.4L, but it's a lot of engine for that frame. And I just put a set of Goodyear Eagle F1-AS tires on it so it corners like mad, now! I'm not too thrilled about the front wheel drive, but it sure is a lot of fun to drive.
