See, no problem with the mermaid sujo1 biggrin
- SeriousCrunchers runs well on three cylinders, too laughing
But how did Australia stay ahead of us in the Kraland Challenge IX? thinking

That was a very nice and vivid description you gave of your area, Ted.
Combine that with Google maps and a picture search, you get an image in your head.
When you go fishing, will that be in the main river or some smaller contributaires?

I can imagine the air will heat up to the east of you. It seems to be pretty much the same mechanism that is at work here. The Gulf Stream in the Atlantic with a branch to the North Sea keeps the westerly wind if not warm then lukewarm during the wintertime and our coastal areas are normally cooler in the summer, too. However, our area is too small to create something like the climate in your desert beyond the Cascades. But then we have Siberia to the east, and when the wind is easterly we get distinct cold and heat depending on the season.

I have been to your region a couple of times. Once on our way back to the airport in Seattle,
we had a break in the Cascades, and I really didn't want to get into the car again.

Can you see Mt. Rainier from your place?

The Chehalis River has salmon and Bluegill,l if i drive down the road 10 miles closer to the ocean the tide affects the river and there are sturgeon which you can keep if they are more than 4 feet long and less than 6 feet long.

The Satsop river is about 5 miles west of me, it has salmon, steelhead and trout fishing, though i usually would fish for trout in the many small lakes which are planted with fish by the state as there are not many trout left in the rivers, at least compared to what there use to be.

The Wynoochee river is about 10 miles west and has good salmon and steelhead fishing.

Both the Satsop and Wynoochee rivers are tributaries of the Chehalis River.

No About 7 miles east of me are the Black hills (the coastal range), When you drive over the hills you can see Mt. Rainier.

Re: an honorary badge

That must be pure paradise for an angler love struck
Do you prepare - I mean clean the innards - of the fish you catch and cook them?
Sturgeons? It makes me think caviar and the Caspian Sea. Is it that type of sturgeons?
Cannot they get huge shock
If you do this a lot, you run a very healthy diet, TLD peace
Which methods do you use?
Well, I suppose each species has to be lured in its own way.
Some of them must be more or less seasonal, aren't they?

Re: an honorary badge

That's some very solid SeriousCrunching, sujo1
- it kind of relieves my conscience

How are your little dogs?
- I assume it's too early to see the Trumpf effect yet on their fur
How does the completely blind one manage daily life?

Re: an honorary badge

We are doing ok on the crunching end (so far) smile

The dogs are doing well, I have no idea about the trump effect on their fur. It is doing better on both.

Hagrid (the male) actually does quite well, he gets around the house with very little problem. You would not know that he is blind except when something gets moved, then he has some difficulty (momentarily) then goes about his business. As he never runs he just ( I Guess ) has the layout in his head and moves accordingly. cool He does go outside and the same goes he follows a set pattern. biggrin Then comes in when he is done. wink

Re: an honorary badge

Isn't it amazing?
Such a sense of direction that little dog has developed!
Hagrid? What does that name mean?
Sounds like a Nordic god ....

Re: an honorary badge

Don't have a clue about the name except it came from the Harry Potter books.
