Hi guys. I've just upgraded my network to IE8. Now I find that all Vista machines cannot connect to WCG (boinc reporting in ok) & XP Machines do but with many errors on page (mainly graphics).
Anyone else experiencing this? |

Tell IE8 to use a compatibility mode for www.worldcommunitygrid.org and secure.worldcommunitygrid.org. Anyway, out of the box, only irritating reminders that the website has a mix of secure and non-secure elements. The solution for that is somewhere on these forums in a discussion with Scribe He wrote also IE8 was working for him all fine.

Many Internet sources are reporting major flaws in IE8. Just Google it

I had also some problem surfing on WCG site and forum and my Boinc had issued a lot of

Hi!
Two of my boxes have been upgraded to IE8, one of them has Vista, and the other, XP. Nothing unusual happened and I managed to access WCG site normally. |

IE 8 works fine and does not need compatibilaty mode at WCG....

Hi guys. I've just upgraded my network to IE8. Now I find that all Vista machines cannot connect to WCG (boinc reporting in ok) & XP Machines do but with many errors on page (mainly graphics). Anyone else experiencing this? Upgraded to IE8 for one Vista ultimate 32 bits machine and observed a little bit issues related with graphics and images, and something associated with my personal preferences on javascripts usage and permissions, and flash player release adopted that appear have some files corrupted after this upgrade (I don't have idea why). Just became my javascripts preferences enabled and download the latest flashplayer available for Vista, and fix the issues for me. Hope help you find your solution.

Not wanting to be a party pooper, but is there a defendable reason to use IE (any version) in the first place? There are several other browers out there, most of them far superior to IE in many ways.
