The screensaver is good but needs to look better.
First, the white background is too bright on my eyes. This should be a darker color like light tan. Second, the graphics shown are displayed toward the left side of the screen. This includes the outlines of the children moving around. Third, the size of the graphics display on the screen is too small. It should be larger. Is there anything on the screensaver that we can manipulate with? As far as I can tell, there is none. |

Someone noted that the styling is influenced by Japanese anime. Starting left is the intend... the ribbon representing the children encircling the target protein and subsequently hula hooping around the frame within the window, dragging the target along. At least what I get to see.
----------------------------------------Indeed I've found only to be able to manipulate the protein when not yet circled, but only briefly, not even sure. Also there were brief moments where the circle is in front of the protein, briefly again. Not bothering me as I only looked in just to see what we get. You do know btw that the website device profile, custom options allow to increase the frames per second and CPU% use (BOINC 6 only). 'Have set it set low, so not sure what is shown when using high refresh rate. Bright indeed. Edit: To confirm, as with FAAH the target can be manipulated with mouse when not yet circled.

The molecule can be manipulated at any time - it's just almost impossible. I suspect that the code depends on you having the mouse actually on the molecule while dragging it - clearly impractical with it moving around.
I agree a larger molecule would be easier to see. We had the same complaint about the DDDT graphics. One nifty detail I didn't spot immediately: the progress bar children raise their arms in the air every so often. |
