Re: Box reporting error data

I gather you've got 3 handles now Federico,

Well, if the machine in question does not fetch FAAH, DDDT or HPF2 jobs if you set it to allow them and it does RICE fine, it might be that HCC is hovering on the borderline on what that client can. Maybe post your startup log to see if there is anything tweakable in your settings that you might have overlooked. Do a fresh BOINC start to get a current view.

ciao

Re: Box reporting error data

Hi,

this is the startup log of that box (tarma).
What do you mean with "3 handles"? if you mean 3 boxes, yes, but "zebra" left me yesterday (hd fault... maybe it's time for me to buy new hardware)
Thanks again :-)

Federico

[offtopic] '3 handles' means 3 member names you've registered and also posted under in 1 thread. You can have as many devices as you like with different names under a single member name.[/offtopic]

Re: Box reporting error data

The processor is ?

Processor: 1 CentaurHauls VIA Samuel 2 [Family 6 Model 7 Stepping 3]

Don't know if WCG sciences are compatible with this, regardless if the Linux client managed to fetch work from WCG.

The physical memory is very low, which makes it rather unsuitable to run the heavier projects. Even for RICE the suggested minimum is 128mb, though it can run in 30mb free ram space.

It *should* be 100% intel Pentium III compatible, AFAIK (it's a Cyrix C3 core - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VIA_C3 ).

Yes I know. Digging into the logs, I cannot find any "memory exausted" log entry, I should say that the problem is not the low memory (but wait, maybe an allocation fail into the code. the exit code is 4, not -1... we should see the source code...)

Re: Box reporting error data

I've exhausted looking all places I know. It's always Debian being mentioned at other projects. Linux is tested on Ubuntu and with just a single report and the none standard CPU, I think a specialist with spare time is needed to diagnose this. Certainly getting to see the HCC source code is on the scale of 0 - 100%, zero. WCG does not release any code, will not, by absolute statement.

We know that RICE works. Maybe try 5.10.45, if Debian has it in their repository.

Re: Box reporting error data

Hi, I received this message:

freeglut (graphics_app): Unable to create direct context rendering for window 'hcc1 version 6.03 [workunit: X0000057601008200509231344]'
This may hurt performance.

What means?

This message doesn't cause problems because, WU is Valid and i received credits, but I want to know what kind of error is.

Thank you. wink wink
