I gather you've got 3 handles now Federico,
----------------------------------------Well, if the machine in question does not fetch FAAH, DDDT or HPF2 jobs if you set it to allow them and it does RICE fine, it might be that HCC is hovering on the borderline on what that client can. Maybe post your startup log to see if there is anything tweakable in your settings that you might have overlooked. Do a fresh BOINC start to get a current view. ciao

Hi,
this is the startup log of that box (tarma). What do you mean with "3 handles"? if you mean 3 boxes, yes, but "zebra" left me yesterday (hd fault... maybe it's time for me to buy new hardware) Thanks again :-) Federico 12/03/2009 19.19.05||Starting BOINC client version 6.2.14 for i686-pc-linux-gnu 12/03/2009 19.19.05||log flags: task, file_xfer, sched_ops 12/03/2009 19.19.05||Libraries: libcurl/7.18.2 OpenSSL/0.9.8g zlib/1.2.3.3 libidn/1.8 libssh2/0.18 12/03/2009 19.19.05||Data directory: /var/lib/boinc-client 12/03/2009 19.19.05||Processor: 1 CentaurHauls VIA Samuel 2 [Family 6 Model 7 Stepping 3] 12/03/2009 19.19.05||Processor features: fpu de tsc msr cx8 mtrr pge mmx 3dnow 12/03/2009 19.19.05||OS: Linux: 2.6.26-1-486 12/03/2009 19.19.05||Memory: 115.62 MB physical, 972.64 MB virtual 12/03/2009 19.19.05||Disk: 3.81 GB total, 2.01 GB free 12/03/2009 19.19.05||Local time is UTC +1 hours 12/03/2009 19.19.05||No coprocessors 12/03/2009 19.19.05|Enigma@Home|URL: http://www.enigmaathome.net/; Computer ID: 12098; location: (none); project prefs: default 12/03/2009 19.19.05|World Community Grid|URL: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/; Computer ID: 855054; location: home; project prefs: home 12/03/2009 19.19.05|rosetta@home|URL: http://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/; Computer ID: 1020011; location: (none); project prefs: default 12/03/2009 19.19.05||General prefs: from World Community Grid (last modified 03-Mar-2009 18:57:10) 12/03/2009 19.19.05||Computer location: home 12/03/2009 19.19.05||General prefs: using separate prefs for home 12/03/2009 19.19.05||Reading preferences override file 12/03/2009 19.19.05||Preferences limit memory usage when active to 86.71MB 12/03/2009 19.19.05||Preferences limit memory usage when idle to 104.06MB 12/03/2009 19.19.05||Preferences limit disk usage to 1.54GB 12/03/2009 19.19.05||Contacting account manager at http://www.gridrepublic.com/ 12/03/2009 19.19.08|rosetta@home|Restarting task lrfrag_t367__1_abinitio_w_steal_7756_3750_0 using minirosetta version 154 12/03/2009 19.19.10||Account manager contact succeeded 12/03/2009 19.19.11|rosetta@home|Sending scheduler request: Requested by account manager. [offtopic] '3 handles' means 3 member names you've registered and also posted under in 1 thread. You can have as many devices as you like with different names under a single member name.[/offtopic]

The processor is ?
----------------------------------------Processor: 1 CentaurHauls VIA Samuel 2 [Family 6 Model 7 Stepping 3] Don't know if WCG sciences are compatible with this, regardless if the Linux client managed to fetch work from WCG. The physical memory is very low, which makes it rather unsuitable to run the heavier projects. Even for RICE the suggested minimum is 128mb, though it can run in 30mb free ram space. http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/help/viewTopic.do?shortName=minimumreq

Digging into the logs, I cannot find any "memory exausted" log entry, I should say that the problem is not the low memory (but wait, maybe an allocation fail into the code. the exit code is 4, not -1... we should see the source code...) |

I've exhausted looking all places I know. It's always Debian being mentioned at other projects. Linux is tested on Ubuntu and with just a single report and the none standard CPU, I think a specialist with spare time is needed to diagnose this. Certainly getting to see the HCC source code is on the scale of 0 - 100%, zero. WCG does not release any code, will not, by absolute statement.
----------------------------------------We know that RICE works. Maybe try 5.10.45, if Debian has it in their repository.

Hi, I received this message:
freeglut (graphics_app): Unable to create direct context rendering for window 'hcc1 version 6.03 [workunit: X0000057601008200509231344]' This may hurt performance. What means? This message doesn't cause problems because, WU is Valid and i received credits, but I want to know what kind of error is. Thank you. ![]() |
