DOA. Advanced RMA Already Begun!  If I had just thrown the original one in the wood stove, none of this would ever have happened. I'd never recommend the 9800GTX as a crunchin' machine.  With all those cores heating the place you still have a wood stove? LOL With 4 quads fried, there has been a drop in the central heating. I still have not messed with them. I know the PS's are fried but have not vaildated the the MoBo's/processors/vid cards are working.  I don't have much free time to work on them right now. Was at the Vet this morning. Two dogs, two exams, a year of heartworm med's = $480.  Hey Obama Dude ... we need health care reform for canines!!!!!   |

It really is a POS, but thanks for letting me take a crack at it. I just received my 260 GTX and will fire it up tonight. Let's see how THAT improves things... I've heard a million horror stories about this card. It's going up on Ebay Refurb, NEW IN BOX. Highest bidder wins. I hope to pay for my 260 GTX and give DM the rest of the money if it sells for more than $150, but I only really want to use it to subsidize the cost of my 260. I just got sick of EVGA and their BS RMA system that victimizes the consumer. If you're thinking you want a graphics card to play with, I have an 8800 GT with no fan but a somewhat working heatsink. It LOVES to be overclocked and kept under 60C when I kept a 120 MM Scythe fan on it oced 100 mhz. |
