I hope to be back home by this weekend.I busted but to get this job done.At 65 its getting harder to work like a teenager but i do like what i do and i took this job to get one of those I7 machines.It almost makes sense to buy a Mac Pro with two quad cores and NVIDIA Gforce vidio for crunching--does anyone have any ideas--Gerald Hey, we old farts can do anything any of those young snots can - we just have to pace ourselves! Of course, at our ages, we tend to forget that last part.  An i7 with the right card for GPU crunching would be a wicked cruncher. Right now, Blizzie, Jonathan and DM are putting out enough GPU crunching themselves to equal all of the credits we all do at WCG. Also, it appears that Lattice is testing GPU crunching so we may have another project for GPU crunching soon. |

Howdy everyone..! I'm still around, and still crunching.. :) I didn't even notice, but i'm psyched about the childhood cancer project. After seeing many people affected by cancer at work, I can't wait to update my computer that I have now and buy a new one to help with the crunching.. Dr. Mike.. Good to hear from you Doc! When you get around to buying a new machine, go for at least a Quad. The price difference with a C2D is not much. |
