Hello,
After some adventures, I tryed to reinstate WCG on my laptopacer. It doesn't work at all anymore. Is it possible that Spybot or Avast! antivirus block the link between Boinc manager and the WCG site ? After downloading (several times), repairing (several times) no work at all shows up. Cheers, Paul |

It's an Acer laptop TravelMate 290LCi, OS Windows XP on Intel Centrino Mobile, Intel Pentium M 1.3GHz, 256MB SDRAM
BOINC downloaded via Google -> WCG Installed as instructed on the WCG website, then announced as complete, OK, ... but not working. Spybot asked if I agreed with the change, I answered yes. Seems a mystery to me, because it runned smoothly before, until a computerman announced to my wife that the laptop was badly protected. I erased BOINC and WCG, and tryed to reinstate it, as I did with 2 other computers before, where everything runs smoothly. Paul |

Hi Paul.
You still haven't given us a clue what your actual problem is. What error are you seeing? |

That would be strange... please confirm (and explain how you have tried to launch the Boinc Manager) or otherwise describe exactly what you are experiencing (we're not psychics ) |

I downloaded it from Google, WCG, I even tipped the "launch BOINC" hole, it didn't launch, the manager button "restaure" between "close" and "hide" didn't light up, so I couldn't open it. I presume something in the new antivirus, or in the firewall prevents it from becoming active.

Hi vep,
Have you tried selecting My Computer - Folders - C: - Program Manager - BOINC - boincmgr.exe to launch BOINC Manager? Lawrence |

Yes, I did. I'll call my computerman to solve the question.
Cheers, Paul |
