People,
I am currently have a problem to use the WorldCommunity Bonic client. I am running Windows XP and the internet authentication uses cookies. On only URL's that works with BONIC client is https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/ . I have attempted to use the client 5.8.16 and the latest one as well both the same results. With this URL the client starts to work however i am getting a lot of messages: 27/02/2009 01:11:11|World Community Grid|[file_xfer] Started download of file dddt_03_v01.png 27/02/2009 01:11:12|World Community Grid|[file_xfer] Temporarily failed download of dddt_03_v01.png: http error After the work is completed I get the following error, and subsequently the client reports, "No work available to process". Hi,
----------------------------------------Have you tried the advice in the messagelog to detach (project tab of BOINC manager, select WCG, Detach button on left), and reattach via the tools menu selecting WCG or typing the http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ address?

penzk001, you don't use HTTPS to attach to World Community Grid. Once attached, World Community Grid always uses SSL for scheduler requests.
The URL is used to identify the project, not for server communications. Two other things: 1. Our recommended BOINC version is 6.2.28. 2. You may have a proxy problem in addition to the wrong URL. However, 6.2.28 has better proxy support than 5.8.16, so see what happens. |

I have downloaded the BOINC client 6.2.28 and started the software.
After that I have tried to detach the project and re-attach it using http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org. I get the following message "The project is temporary unavailable. Please try again later." Hi, penzk001.
The most likely problem is that you have a proxy problem. However, you should tell us about any other security software you are running on your computer, firewall or router. Please will you use the configuration file described here: http://wcg.wikia.com/wiki/Client_configuration (the last one), then use the "Read config file" option in BOINC Manager before trying to attach again. Post the results, and hopefully we will have a clue what the problem is. Thank you. |

----------------------------------------Your log suggest that you are still attached to secure.worldcommunitygrid.org, when you should use www.worldcommunitygrid.org. You can pick the correct url from the list rather than typing it which will make sure you've got the correct one.
