There is a trick to see the Result Log of the partner in a Quorum 1/2, but only if you have returned the result yourself:
----------------------------------------1) Go to the Result Status Page and click on the Status link. 2) In the Result Log's address bar change the ID 1 up or 1 down. 3) Enter and the log of the Wingman is bound to appear. Here's a practical example: My Result page record: E000354_ 419A_ 00270600t_ 0-- 628290 Inconclusive 2/8/09 20:30:57 2/17/09 23:18:22 6.60 100.5 / 0.0 The detail: E000354_ 419A_ 00270600t_ 2-- In Progress 2/17/09 23:18:34 2/21/09 22:20:58 0.00 0.0 / 0.0 E000354_ 419A_ 00270600t_ 1-- Inconclusive 2/8/09 20:31:24 2/10/09 08:17:33 2.16 27.9 / 0.0 E000354_ 419A_ 00270600t_ 0-- Inconclusive 2/8/09 20:30:57 2/17/09 23:18:22 6.60 100.5 / 0.0 < Moi My Result Log: <core_client_version>6.2.28</core_client_version> <![CDATA[ <stderr_txt> Calling initGraphics() INFO: No state to restore. Start from the beginning. Calling initGraphics() INFO: No state to restore. Start from the beginning. called boinc_finish </stderr_txt> The partners log after incrementing the ID number in address bar: <core_client_version>6.2.19</core_client_version> <![CDATA[ <stderr_txt> Calling initGraphics() INFO: No state to restore. Start from the beginning. [ERROR] Failed to open either source or destination files while copying wcgrestart.rst to ../../projects/www.worldcommunitygrid.org/E000354_419A_00270600t_1_3. Error: 2 called boinc_finish </stderr_txt> ]]> I've only tested this successfully on CEP which showed the actual result name with copy suffix, probably because there was an actual critical error. On RICE I could not get it working, just showing a blank screen. Suspect it will work for FAAH, DDDT and HCC too. The good news is, knreed is looking and weighing to formally enabling "the bug". Last time it was implemented and released in a web build it got pulled as the RL showed the owners name which IS NOT a good idea for the well known highest privacy maintenance rule. :D If you get it to work too, share to confirm if other projects at WCG allow the same. It's an undocumented feature so it could disappear again! Enjoy till then, if you are keen to know.

Sek, I have some good news and some bad ones.
----------------------------------------The good one is that it works for DDDT and Rice too. The first bad one is that I should have written "it can work" instead of it works. The second bad is that you don't know what you see since - there is no WU name in the log (at least for these projects) - I think the ResultId is not sequential in the quorum but more probably chronological (either on receipt or on distribution, I don't know). I think we will have to wait for Kevin's enabling this feature officially before relying on what we can see. Sorry Sek. Jean. |

Who's interested if a log is clean and quorum 2 both valid... not me, but the RL always containing the WU name would be great for confirmation, also easing problem reporting to the forum.
----------------------------------------We'll see as more people volunteer to try and report their findings.

We'll see as more people volunteer to try and report their findings. I had a rice results that was pending validation and used it to experiment. I was #13, I did view #12 as result was in by decrementing by one. I wasn't able to view #11 as the results were not yet in. Neither was 10. Next I checked was #7 since that one was in and was able to see results. Ooh, can tell what level of BOINC was being run for each results that were in. I could experiment a bit more if you wish. But then you can experiement with your own rice results or HPF2. JB |

I saw in one of the rice projects that I have completed that someone in quorum had an error, and snagged his result from his job on first try:

Here's another one from a different rice project.

bieberj,
----------------------------------------Careful not to go on a mission and report what the CA's already know from prior forum posts and techs already know through their production analysis. Good to see that with some finger flexing, the interested can learn a bit more If their own result went off the deep end or why a quorum might need additional results. cheers and thanks for sharing

I don't think the ResultID is sequential. Especially if some workunit was reported "too late" and additional workunit are send out.
Considering that, I'd say: It might work for some of the WUs, but not all. |

I looked at the log files of 2 of my valid FAAH WUs that had a quorum of 2, and then at the log files of the results with the previous and next resultId. Log files for successful FAAH results contain more info than those for some other projects, so if the log files are from different WUs, it will probably be apparent. Example:
-------------------------------------------- faah5221_005555_MC_xMut_md21500_02_1-- | Valid | 18/02/09 23:12:36 | 19/02/09 03:43:21 | 3.19 | 82.4 / 87.0 (mine) faah5221_005555_MC_xMut_md21500_0-- | Valid | 18/02/09 13:01:29 | 18/02/09 23:10:50 | 3.80 | 91.7 / 87.0 ---- Log file extract that includes the first of many differences (resultId=158385288 - mine): ... _maxGenSeenSoFar changed: 10328 Updating Best Energy for WU: 0.00 Finished Docking number 0 Updating Best Energy for WU: -12.04 ==> For resultId=158385287 (Other guy?): -10.54 Finished Docking number 1 Finished Docking number 2 ... The file for resultId=158385289 was different again. Note that the 2nd copy (mine) was sent after the 1st copy had been returned about 10 hrs later, which would explain why the real resultIds are not sequential. (I haven't repeated the exercise for FAAH results where the WUs were issued at about the same time). [Edit 1 times, last edit by Rickjb at Feb 20, 2009 7:00:04 AM] |

My computer just completed an emergency rice job. And I tried this and can confirm that the results are not sequential. I was #20, I could see rice result for #19 - not sure if same batch. However #18 is pending validation and I couldn't see this one when I reduced by two.
